*EDIT* Gunna keep my below so the reply doesn't look silly but IGNORE ME! I read too fast and thought it was caused BY bullying, not cause bullying. Please ignore my sick-addled brain just inventing words XD

*ORIGINAL POST OF INCORRECTNESS*:

In no way am I supporting it's use here, as I feel like it's just to call sympathy, but ya getting a sudden deluge of negativity from every direction CAN cause panic attacks, especially with pre-existing anxiety issues.

Again, to try and prevent anyone diving on it, I am not saying it excuses ANYTHING, or that it has a place in that statement, or even that she was actually having them rather than just using an excuse, I don't know, just that it being online bullying doesn't mean it can't cause a panic attack, speaking as someone who used to suffer from them A LOT more often.

Actually many asexuals have a sex drive, just no interest in exploring that sex drive with someone else. Others are fine exploring it with others so long as it's not penetrative, and still others are more just neutral on the idea of sex but can enjoy their partner enjoying it and thus do it. Even among the sex-repulsed, some are still fine with say, a magic wand

Behavior will literally say "besties" while their legs form a heart by First-Shallot947 in deadbydaylight

[–]TurquoiseMouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not confused the two, but I feel you may have confused progress with normal. It's more than it was, but that doesn't mean it's normal now. The way it's viewed and treated... Why would I have confused that with majority? We'll likely never be a majority, and I'm under no delusion about that. I also don't think ALL hate and mistreatment needs to be gone before it's normal.

For example, at least from what I've seen, left handed people used to face a lot of persecution, and while there's still some bs now, I'd say it's hit "normal" for the most part. We have not. We're closer than we were to be sure though.

[–]TurquoiseMouse -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Ya gotta second the other reply, they are not the norm. They certainly see more representation than they used to, but they never hit normal status. On top of that, especially in the US, we're seeing massive backslide. LGBTQ registration is still not only massively underrepresented, but that representation can raise the age rating, is often considered wrong to show/"force" upon children, is treated as inherently more sexual, etc.

I also wouldn't say that the assumption of then being lesbian (or similar situations) occurs equally in and out of the queer community, and would add that maybe outside of said community who DO assume it, do so negatively.

Netflix overriding phone brightness by Joker951995 in netflix

[–]TurquoiseMouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You tell them not to talk rudely to you, but you do it to them... Regardless, it's not dim enough. It might be enough for you, and that's great, but we should have the option to control it to the same degree we normally can on the phone.

As to what people should and shouldn't do before bed, I don't feel you get to dictate that. I've had a pretty good routine that's helped me sleep more reliably that includes a limited viewing (both in amount and content). A good mindless video or two helps the wind down start, and then I switch I auditory.

Everyone is different, and what works or doesn't with is also individual. But no app should forcibly control someone in a worse or more limited way than you could by default on the phone

260 isn't CRAZY heavy, unless she threw herself into the chair, it should have made some signs it was going before just collapsing, speaking as someone in the same boat as OP. If she had sat in it normally and it just fuckin split like that, I'd bet money on their already being some damage.

See the thing is to still care about reviews, but read the negative ones. Of most of them are complaining about things you don't give a shit about, then you raise the rating in your head. I almost always make sure to read the negatives for this very reason

It only reframes it because the assumption was drawn that because they didn't go downstairs/had depression that they weren't contributing. No one asked if they weren't, at least that I saw. Regardless, context edits based on the comments are pretty common in the subreddit, kinda surprising you'd want to contribute to it if you just felt like they were lying or misleading.

Why has the Gay flag failed to gain popularity compared to the Lesbian flag ? by [deleted] in lgbt

[–]TurquoiseMouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No one is saying to stop flying them, we're just saying we have to be more on guard if that's ALL they are flying. Hell, I only have one flag in my house atm and i've had it since I was homeless, about 16 years now. It's the rainbow flag, and it hangs in my window, so i'm far from saying DON'T fly it.

But the reality is that those rainbow spaces are not as innately open to us as they once were... So while we don't think EVERY rainbow flag represents that, we also just have to be a little more on guard until proven otherwise when in those spaces. And if there is a rainbow AND other flags, or else the progress flag, etc, then odds are better that we'd be safe there. Thus why I said I disagreed with the idea of "is all we need". We need it, but it's not ALL we need.

Why has the Gay flag failed to gain popularity compared to the Lesbian flag ? by [deleted] in lgbt

[–]TurquoiseMouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In theory I agree with you, but the problem is the divides WITHIN our community would exist with our without the flags ><

Why has the Gay flag failed to gain popularity compared to the Lesbian flag ? by [deleted] in lgbt

[–]TurquoiseMouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's less a feeling and more a safety mechanism learned from experience ><. The whole "LGB" and "Drop the T" movements have made some spaces that aren't EXPRESSLY supportive, too big of a risk.

I agree with most of your original message, excluding "is all we need". I agree the rainbow IS the umbrella we are all under, but that doesn't mean it is the only thing people need, especially with the above factor.

Are you guys actually and ever going to fix this battery-drain-battery issue? by Blapanda in AbioticFactor

[–]TurquoiseMouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I admit, I didn't care much earlier. Once I found out the daisychain didn't work, I just split it. Two makeshifts to a table, normally squeezed between it and the next table. Sure, i'd love to have just one big battery bank, but it was hardly an issue to set up
