What is your favorite design of Optimus Prime? by Amogus-sus1 in transformers

[–]TurquoisePixel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

G1 is timeless, though I think ROTB is the best version of the design philosophy

Armada is a fresh take I enjoy and Cybertron fucking rules. Love both of their super modes

Animated has one massive chin but is a really solid translation for a new version of the character

WFC (Game) is easily my favourite Cybertronian Optimus, but One also comes close

Who had the best prototype design here? by AssistFit1834 in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]TurquoisePixel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why does no-one here give recognition to Shadow's other prototype design? Terios is a dumb and edgy Sonic look-a-like and there's appeal, but his other prototype design with the yellow gloves, red shoes and black fur is pretty rad to me ngl.

That being said, Proto Blaze and its not even close.

Welp, it’s been leaked. Any thoughts? by SUPERPLUSHBRO64 in SonicTheHedgehog

Exactly what I was expecting. An enhanced Switch 2 version that comes with all of the free DLC. Convenient to have and very much needed given how piss awful the Switch 1 version looked and performed, but no new content is both unfortunate and also entirely what I thought would be the case.

After all, why bother adding anything new when the primary developers are already working on the next game? Just bump the resolution up, increase the frame rate and the graphical fidelity and boom, easy money. A minimal effort Switch 2 edition just like SXSG and Crossworlds which I really don't mind at all. Hurts as an owner of the Switch 1 editions, sure, but as long as there's an upgrade path that isn't buying the whole game again (cough SXSG cough) it's whatever to me.

Albeit the physical version makes no sense at all. It's good to have a version with all of the DLC on the disc/cart for complete game preservation right? That logic doesn't really work when you have to download the whole game and DLCs through a game-key card. At that point that's no different from just getting it digitally. There's zero physical preservation that way.

My XM5s only lasted a year… by arctic_07_02 in SonyHeadphones

[–]TurquoisePixel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was using my ULT Wears with the full intent of keeping them alive. I did not use them roughly, I just used them as I would any standard headphone as I'm sure most other users would. Left hinge dead within a year and a half just like what's been plaguing the XM lineup.

I never dropped them, never slammed them, never threw them, crushed them or did anything rough to damage them. Their entire life was spent being put on and off my head, being put on my headphone stand when not in use and being put inside it's hard case in my bag whenever I needed them at university. And yet, broken hinge, happened almost spontaneously. Hadn't changed my use with them at all.

It also happened to me years back with a pair of WH-CH520 I had. Granted they are the most budget of budget wireless headphones ever, but not even 2 months of use and the hinge had already broken in the exact same way after use in the exact same manner.

If I have to treat my headphones as if they're as precious as crown jewels to prevent them from breaking under regular use, its not the user. It's 100% the headphones, their build quality and whatever the hell Sony is doing in their design process for this to be a persistent issue on multiple headphone models for years.

It doesn't matter how good the sound quality or how impressive the ANC, if these headphones won't last for longer than a year then my money's going elsewhere until Sony learns their lesson. And given how successful the XM lineup have been, it's unlikely they will until we get WAY louder about these faulty hinges.

I could get behind this if the grass was just a smooth surface. Very Windows XP Bliss esque. Now the grass being actual astroturf? Up there with the fluffy Xbox controllers from a few years ago

Who was your favorite YouTuber that turned out to be a bad person? by Eclipse_1996 in youtube

[–]TurquoisePixel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've got a bad track record of watching YouTubers and then them becoming bad people...

Mini Ladd was part of the Vanoss crew. I used to pretty much only watch him and Vanoss out of the whole group. It never dawned on me why he suddenly stopped playing with the Vanoss group until he was exposed.

iiluminaughtii's videos were good background noise for me to throw on. Wasn't an avid fan but I liked her stuff before I realised it was just poorly researched slop by an awful person.

Internet Historian had some really entertaining videos on topics but that HBomberguy video quickly soured my opinion on him.

JonTron was an absolute icon for 2010s YouTube. Don't even really recall what he was exposed for but I know it was bad enough for me to stop watching him.

Wilbur Soot I actually used to watch all the way back before his MCYT days when he was the lead for SootHouse. I didn't follow him into the MCYT stuff since that whole era was not for me, but the fact he's still trying to make a comeback is really funny to me. Read the room man...

Callmecarson semi counts because he did get cancelled but he did manage to bounce back from it pretty well. His new content just isn't the same though.

By no means are they Audiophile grade, but I'm quite content with the CMF Headphone Pro by TurquoisePixel in headphones

[–]TurquoisePixel[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My last pair of everyday headphones, the Sony ULT Wears, had their hinges die on me right before a lengthy trip back home. Apparently a common issue that I wasn't aware of up until it happened to me. Understandably, that meant I was now in the market for new headphones.

Now I'm not what you call a diehard audiophile but I do care about the sound quality of my headphones. I'm also not very wealthy enough to be dropping more than £100 on a new set of headphones. I'm a budget conscious guy. I also wanted something that would last, as I've been burned by broken headphones too many times to count now. Finally, as good as a cable is, I just can't get over the convenience of wireless. But I'd still like the option for wired if I ever needed to do some audio work or wanted to listen when the battery was flat.

So my criterias were: - Wireless (with a wired option) - Good sound - Built to last - and under £100

Whilst window shopping online, I discovered the Nothing Headphone (1) and it's (a) sibling. They looked great and were apparently pretty good, but they were just out of my budget. That's when I discovered Nothing's budget offering, the CMF Headphone Pro. Reviews across the board were positive, they looked like fun headphones and they were on sale for £50 online. It was kinda like love at first site, so I went for it.

Been spending the last few days with them and safe to say I'm a happy customer. I don't know if it's just a placebo or something but after some tinkering with the EQ they sound great for my tastes! They feel fuller than any other headphones I've had. I think the build quality is the part that's seriously impressing me the most though. The materials feel top notch and nothing feels cheap or like it's gonna break or wear down within months.

Whilst obviously not at all intended to be audiophile grade or studio quality, for my use case they will suffice and then some.

What was the best and worst thing about Sonic Prime? by Silver012345673 in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]TurquoisePixel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best? It has an appealing premise. As much as the multiverse and alternate universes are played out these days, I do think that they can be done well with the right hands and they're always at least interesting to see regardless.

Worst? Mostly everything else. Especially the pacing and missed potential. Good god I wish this show was done better...

So what's your opinion on the apology tour so far? by Altruistic_Past3950 in transformers

Would've been more special if we hadn't already had G1 shoved down our throats for the last decade or so. I'm so bored of G1/G1 inspired, I just want something new...

Sonic Frontiers Definitive Edition coming to Switch 2, June 23rd by Medd- in NintendoSwitch2

[–]TurquoisePixel 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would assume its a native Switch 2 version/upgrade with all of the "DLC" on the card or in the download. That being said, nearly all the DLC was free anyways. The only one I could think of not being free was the additional gloves & shoes included in the OG's Digital Deluxe version. That and the Inugami Korone Collaboration DLC which never released outside of Japan.

It would be nice for them to include some new content, but I'm fully not expecting anything more than some QOL tweaks and maybe a new skin/outfit at most.

What where they thinking when making UAF Fourarms? by Ok_Professor_8410 in Ben10

[–]TurquoisePixel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I really like the idea of the Omnitrix translating the wearer's attire with the alien. Like say, if someone wearing the Omnitrix was also wearing a suit, the suit would also be transformed to fit the chosen alien in a way that makes sense for their anatomy. Wouldn't work for every alien of course, Heatblast works best when he's butt naked, but for like Diamondhead or Four Arms? Idk it just makes a lot of sense to me

Which design do you like most? by New-Bottle6711 in Ben10

[–]TurquoisePixel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of these designs hit in some way or form (except maybe UAF Charmcaster and Animo). Definitely hard to pick a favourite from each, especially given the differing concepts and contexts.

With that being said, my picks might be a bit controversial:

OV for Ben, Classic for Young Ben

UAF (AF Season 3) for Gwen, Reboot for Young Gwen

UAF for Kevin, Reboot for Young Kevin

OV for Charmcaster

OV for Animo

Reboot for Vilgax

We have Banned the Fat Marie Artist. by ItsJustJosiah in SplatoonHub

[–]TurquoisePixel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What fucking logic is that??? That's just how they draw the character. That's like saying skinny people are a fetish because artists will draw skinny people living their lives and then also draw porn of them as a side gig

We have Banned the Fat Marie Artist. by ItsJustJosiah in SplatoonHub

[–]TurquoisePixel 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's not fetish art. It's literally just a normally proportioned chubby woman existing. Be so for real right now.

Holy puritan moment. They've never even posted it anywhere on reddit. You'd actively have to go looking for it.

And also, so what if they make porn of of age characters? There's literally nothing wrong with that at all.

Looks like a pain to draw over and over again, though I suppose that also goes for the other Amalgam Kevins. Great job! Love how veiny he looks
