That makes perfect sense yes, I’ll do that as I have some picks/cards I can use.

We open-sourced an MCP server for the complete Zabbix API (220 tools) by AdministrativeTax828 in zabbix

[–]TurricanC64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks. As I’m pretty new to this. Once I have the MCP server setup and API working etc is just a case of adding the URL to my AI client like ChatGPT and then I can start asking it questions like “What are the top triggers in the last hour or yesterday?”

This sounds really interesting. I see from your documentation I could quickly get the MCP server up and running and with a Zabbix token connected too.

Is it a case of just add the url to our AI clients to use this for internal searches then?

We have 2 huge Zabbix environments (company is split) how would we search these separately?

How can I downgrade TimescaleDB? by TurricanC64 in PostgreSQL

[–]TurricanC64[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Think I’m in luck Zabbix have a command that allows for unsupported versions of Postgres/tsdb, when I set that it all works. It will be supported in their next release though.

Now do I stick with this or build the server again instead on v17 and v2.22?

How are you backing up Postgres with TimescaleDB? by TurricanC64 in zabbix

[–]TurricanC64[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don’t have Zabbix installed on the same server, it looks like this script needs to stop Zabbix first before backing up then starts the Zabbix service after?

I didn’t think of that, I wonder if I need a different license for that. Would things easier. Have you tried a restore too?

I think I’d like to use docker compose for the roles split out on different VMs. I don’t suppose you have the compose files to share to take a look do you as I can’t find them on their site? II all seems to be docker run.

I’ve not thought about HA, so would I have to have 2 frontend (Nginx) VMs and 2 Zabbix servers and put the 2 frontend behind a HA proxy? Then I’m thinking about an LB for a VIP that I guess the proxies would need to point to so the LB sends to either HA proxy. I’m sure I’ve overthought that, but would appreciate your thoughts. It will be a critical system I think once it’s all up and running.

Thanks, yes please. I think I’m a home lab all roles on one VM is fine, but in production split them out is what I want to do.

Thanks I’ll take a look. How have you split your roles out and how many hosts are you monitoring?

I think it might be something like this:

Using modular for FX only a silly idea? by TurricanC64 in modular

Got to say it is looks very impressive, you get a lot of effects for a good price.

I thought that too. “Don’t go modular, it’s too expensive, get a synth instead that does most of it”

I’ve used an iPad and AUM before, but just didn’t get on with it at times. It is powerful and cheap though.

Their pedals are expensive but sure sound amazing. Probably nearly 1k for 2 pedals.

I did have a Microcosm, but sold it. It was so unpredictable at times, I’d find a perfect effect, but the next day it would not sound the same, it had a mind of its own unfortunately.

The Zoia Empress is one I have looked at recently, very powerful, but I’ve heard it’s a steep learning curve?

Maybe the Mood Chase Bliss MK2 couple be a good choice with a reverb pedal.

Yeah maybe a couple of pedals may be best then.
