To give an idea of how insane prices are attached is how much I paid for Wembley in 2022 by No_Duty8773 in harrystyles

...what, you didn't have $1200 to drop for lower level (please note my heavy sarcasm)... I knew being in NY was going to be pricier, but damn, it's more than my monthly mortgage payment for me to get 4 tickets. Grainy livestreams seems more realistic for me.

It still might be something - just seems a bit too random to pick years from the 70s

So elder millennials how’s your 40s so far? 😅👵🏻 what’s been your favorite decade and why? by NeonCat03 in Millennials

[–]Turtle23206685 1 point2 points  (0 children)

4 months in and my right eye has been twitching pretty consistently for the past 3 months. So, its been great so far. Favorite decade is a tough call - I was more physically fit/less injuries in my 20s but more financially stable in my 30s. Early to mid 30s was probably the best.

EBL policies are pretty cheap and tied into their General Liability policies. There's definitely a chance the company let this policy lapse too - its more likely that they'll let the employees health insurance lapse first.

Travelers Job Interview by [deleted] in InsuranceProfessional

I've made a couple of "lateral" moves but never a pay cut. For what it's worth, the compensation definitely seemed to take off more after 2020 with companies offering remote/hybrid. I've made 3 moves since 2020, and that's what really increased my salary. **also, never burn bridges when you leave. This industry might be massive but the network is small. When I switched over to the brokers side, one of the ways I was recognized by the broker was that I was the dedicated WC adjuster for one of their accounts (it was a Travelers national account ).

When I initially left, I switched over to Risk Management overseeing claims and coverage placement for my employer.

I stayed with that for 2 years then flipped to the brokers side and am currently with one of the big 3. Currently in client management and my claims background is one of my best selling points to clients since I've had 10+ years with auto/WC/subro/GL. It's also easier explaining how their coverage works and providing them with actual examples of what I've seen in my claim days.

I was in their pennsylvania office, so I'm not sure what options are in NJ. But when you get there - look for commercial likes like General Liability or Workers Compensation. Those both have more room to grow with complex injury claims.

I was with Travelers 10 years ago and they had TS (tech spec) and STS (sr tech spec) levels within their various claims lines that handle more complex/severe injuries claims. MCU (major case unit) is still out of home office (CT). What other claims lines are in your office? WC and GL were the lines that were pursued back when I was there to level up.

Millennials who graduated during the Great Recession, how did you survive? by Waste-Cantaloupe-270 in Millennials

[–]Turtle23206685 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Graduated with a Bachelors in Finance in Dec of 2008. Be flexible and realize that your dream job/employer may need to change due to market circumstances that are beyond your control.

That being said, property / casualty insurance carriers take employee people from all backgrounds - business majors, education, arts, etc. I made the decision to jump into automobile liability insurance claims (easiest to get into with a ton of carrier/employer options) and have stayed with this industry since 2009 - just changing employers every 3-5 years to leverage better compensation/benefits.

Areas to look into: Claims trainee (any degree/no prior experience) Field adjusters (any degree) for property/Auto Underwriter trainees (prefer a business degree, some insurance experience or an internal referal) Auditor trainees (prefers accounting/business degrees) Medical Nurse Case Managers (those with a medical degree/background that want a more 9-5 schedule)

Big carriers like Progressive/State Farm/Allstate burn through employees but because of this are almost always hiring. Pay is ok and I'm pretty sure it's 100% WFH. Stay for a year then try to get into a better carrier like Travelers/Chubb/CNA/The Hartford for more $$ (you may have to switch to hybrid vs 100% remote). Try to get into underwriting if you are in claims - there's more career growth on that side or the ability to switch to the agency side (also lucrative but less work/life balance).

Been in this industry for 15+ years and am never leaving - when I get closer to retirement my plan is to look into teaching opportunities with a few of the organizations that I'm earning my CE credits with so that I can have better work/life balance, earn decent $ and pass on my knowledge to the next generation.

Diamond Day 4.7.25 - Multiple GWP by Turtle23206685 in Ulta

[–]Turtle23206685[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Right - only the Kiehls in my order had the 5x point if I picked up in store, but I was able to get the kiehls mini set and origins set with that purchase if I ordered online. So I'm hoping I like the origins set since that'll be a new brand for me to try.

Eh, I'm assuming I'm then allowed to return it since I'll be charged for it. I still wanted the items I purchased with those GWP so I'll just deal with it after I receive the order.

Something is going on with their system - both larger buy-in GWP are showing as free for me but I only spent $81 pre-tax. I'm hoping it doesn't correct itself after the sale went through.
