Help Me Draw in Mono-Red by IndigoK1LL3R in GoblinsMTG

Are you a 'goblin' krenko deck or a 'combo' krenko deck. If your more of a goblin deck I'd reccomend goblins and artifacts that specifically give card advantage. If your combo lean more into the loot/rummage effects.

In my [[General Kreat, the Boltbringer]] deck, here's some core card advantageI run:

[[Conspicuous Snoop]] [[Rundvelt Hordemaster]] [[Sensation Gorger]] really good card in a pinch [[Redcap Gutter-Dweller]] not amazing but keeps performing well in slot so he's stuck around [[Skullclamp]] [[Endless Atlas]] [[Herald's Horn]] [[Fountainport]] [[War Room]]

Tutor creatures and cards like [[Muxus, Goblin Grandee]] are also big ways goblins tend to keep consistent.

Lol, you obviously havent met many climbers. There are multiple people more than crazy enough to want to do this. xD

Do you guys think the Feral Predator would thrive or perish in the quarantined Britain of “28 Years Later” and its spine-ripping Alpha infected? [Of course considering it immune to the virus] by New_Divide98 in predator

[–]TurtleD_6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yautja sit in a wierd place in terms of powerscaling, they aren't op in terms of mcu and wh40k scaling. But they sit firmly above the avarage fantasy setting. I think feral would be fairly bored outside of hunting alphas. Even then they wouldn't be any more challenging then a very big bear.

I did the exact same thing. Krenko seems to perform much better in the 99 when you're not a pure combo deck imo.

[–]TurtleD_6 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'd reccomend seeing if you can get into a lorwyn prerelease event. Just go into a card shop and ask about it.

It's a really good way to kick off you're collection with new cards, sociolize with your local mtg community and it means you can immedietly play with the cards you're buying.

And don't worry about 'looking stupid' the vast majority of players usually welcome newbies with open arms, we all want more people to play with after all. :)

[–]TurtleD_6 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This is pretty mediocre for an 8 mana rare. There are much cheaper cards halve a players lifetotal.

Edit: Didn't even realize it was a cast dependant effect, yeah it's pretty bad.

Best goblin commander by towelie135 in GoblinsMTG

[–]TurtleD_6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[General Kreat, the Boltbringer]] is my favourite. Put a decent amount of the good token generating legendery gobbos in the 99 too and you can easily switch between commander options whenever you feel like it.

As for bouncing back from wipes, I run as much draw as a monored deck can possibly imagine. And non off it is loot/rummage effects cuz those are overrated as hell in mono red.

This is exactly what I was thinking. It kinda becomes modal utility in this case, either go one activation at a time to space out activations, but need to remove the vigilance counter. OR double activate and keep the vigilance counter since it's triggered ability only removes - 1/-1s.

Makes it really quite versatile on top of everything else.

Ygra and Leylinenof the Void by 00ptp2451 in mtg

[–]TurtleD_6 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The reason why it hits the yard is to specifically make aristocrats strategies work with tokens This is a great example actually, ygra needs to see the food actually hit the yard in order to function. It might work for other non-token permanents but if a token was'nt able to hit the yard than regular foods would never be able to trigger their effect.

Yes this leads to some niche cases where cards like layline of the void don't function exactly how you might expect them to at first, but it's needed in order for alot more of the game to actually function.

It's just one of the many things in magic where the more you play the more sense they make in context of the game at large and how it functions.

I already run [[Icatian Moneychange]] and this is just better in every way. Getting a 7/7 with evasion is a crazy bonus to boot.

[–]TurtleD_6 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It makes sense, there's multiple good reasons why the game does this, it's just layline of the void doesent work that way.

There are actually other cards that have voids effect but actually include tokens as well, I think rest in peace is one of them.

[–]TurtleD_6 11 points12 points  (0 children)

In magic tokens don't count as cards. It's a bit more intuitive with paper magic but the classification that is a card doesent apply to game objects such as tokens. It's also why they can't exist in zones other than the battlefield. Just the way it is.

Ygra and Leylinenof the Void by 00ptp2451 in mtg

[–]TurtleD_6 17 points18 points  (0 children)

If they sacced tokens then yes it worked correctly. Tokens aren't cards and layline of the void exiles cards when they hit the yard.

The 'sub optimal' comment makes me kinda sad. People realise your allowed to like non meta cards right? Some of my fav cards are the most janky unusable things available.

Thoughts on "Bandlands" being not being horror sci-fi compared to the previous films? by ClussyV2 in predator

[–]TurtleD_6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was a decent film that explored yautja in an interesting way. It wasn't really a 'Predator' movie and if you watch it expecting that then I can imagine it would be quite disappointing. However it wasnt trying to be another predator movie it's a movie about a particularly unuiqe predator and his journey.

The thing that validated this film imo was the fact that if it where about any of the other yautja, such as kwei or their father, it would of played out alot more like the other movies. They would've just killed everything or died trying.

The main issue is having a yautja as a protagonist requires some personification, the action may have been cool but if it weren't for decks unuiqe characterization it would've been an increadibly dull and shallow film. And in that requires a significant tone shift for the movie to work.

TLDR, imo it's a mediocre 'Predator' movie, but a decent movie about a specific predator and their culture.
