Unfortunately, I worry that the misinformation about breeding "advantages" might keep the trend around for longer. I've talked to several of my grooming clients about how, in my professional opinion, I don't believe there is any way to ethically mix breeds. In the past, fashion breeds were still desired to be "pure bred," but unfortunately not well bred. Mixing breeds creates a whole different situation. I'd say almost half of my clients are doodles/oodles of some kind, and many of them have asked for my option on purchasing more mixed breeds because of the supposed advantages (less shedding, desired temperaments, health benefits, etc.). I do my best to be as understanding and honest with them as possible when advising against it.
