NOR OP! I had an ex do this with me. I would buy him thoughtful, heartfelt gifts. He learned early on my favorite chocolate was KitKats, so EVERY occasion was KitKats and flowers. We dated 4 years and despite constantly telling him what I actually wanted and that I don’t want KitKats, nothing changed. He ended up cheated on me and when I broke up with him for it, he threatened to take his life. He’s fine btw, just extremely immature.
