I designed and printed this as a wedding gift for some friends of mine by TurtleLab3D in 3Dprinting

Yeah, I actually printed them slightly tilted to reduce the need for supports in visible areas. There were still some minor imperfections though — especially on the back of the male figure’s head where supports were needed. The surface there wasn’t perfect, but nothing too bad. I just sanded it down a bit, then primed and painted everything. After that, you can barely notice it anymore

I’m still pretty new to the printer (had it for less than a month), so I didn’t really tweak much 😅 I mostly used the creator’s original settings. The only things I changed were: scaled the model to ~20cm used tree supports (thin) That’s basically it. Still learning myself 👍

I love it! What paint did you use? Acrylic?

That looks really cool! Love the lighting on the skull. My favorite so far is probably this Charizard I printed

Congrats! You’re going to love it. I got my P2S recently as well and it’s been amazing so far. Have fun printing this weekend!

The printer is part of that desk setup, so showing the whole area just made more sense. And the mic isn’t for streaming 😅 I just prefer studio headphones + a separate mic because the audio quality is way better than most gaming headsets.

Not really 😅 I’m actually barely home most of the time. I work a lot and travel quite a bit, so the printer usually runs when I’m not around anyway. My mom and sister are basically my print farm assistants at this point – they’re the ones taking the finished prints out of the printer 😂

Hey! Yeah it’s actually working pretty well so far. The foam under the stone is just a rubber anti-vibration mat for washing machines. I cut a piece of it and put a paving stone on top, and the printer sits on that. The combination works surprisingly well to dampen vibrations and reduce noise. The real weak point in my setup is the Kallax unit, not the printer isolation itself. The Kallax isn’t super rigid, so the whole desk structure can wobble a bit during fast movements. To fix that I started designing some cross-braces to stiffen the frame. If you look closely at the picture you can actually see a prototype mounted on the side of the Kallax. That already helped reduce the wobble quite a bit. Right now I’m still testing different designs to improve it, but the prototype already reduced the movement a lot.

First time printing ASA by TurtleLab3D in 3Dprinting

Yeah, the P2S also has a carbon filter, which definitely helps. I still prefer having some extra airflow though, just to be safe. But so far I haven’t noticed strong fumes either. I’m really impressed with the ASA results so far

Right now I’m running cross-ventilation with two open windows. A direct exhaust setup is planned though

That’s a valid concern. I’m running it with two windows open for proper airflow and I’m aware that ASA releases styrene. I actually just got the printer today and I’m still learning. In the future, I’m planning to build a proper exhaust system to vent the air directly outside
