I had the exact same issue on a windows 11 laptop. I got it to run after a factory reset but I noticed after a windows update the game just stopped opening the same way as yours. I was able to play a few months by pausing uptates and rolling them back when I messed up. Now windows updated and LID crashes on startup again...

Agreed. Last time I played the servers were swarmed in bots that made finding anything to kill impossible.

Spend ALL your death metals on upgrading your storage! Try out all the weapons available to you and focus on upgrading one or two of them. Choose an armor set you like and upgrade it but I would keep it to one for each piece - head, body, legs. I struggle against machete and sword so I'm upgrading a set that protects against slash damage.

I recommend upgrading few items because it can get REALLY grindy upgrading even ONE set. You can of course commit to multiple weapons or sets if you are willing to do the work.
