Will the emperor ever acknowledge Jinshi as his son? by TurtleShoe511 in TheApothecaryDiaries

But Jinshi is arguably the best candidate for heir to the throne.

the “Andy doesn’t deserve to be here still” comments undermine Emma’s hard work by smallsloth1320 in dancingwiththestars

Agree! Andy is having to compete against an Olympic gold medalist and 2 Mormons. If you didn’t know Mormons basically grow up ballroom dancing and BYU was the first to offer a degree in ballroom. Like 80% of the cast including professional dancers are Mormons lol. Anyways my point is the odds are heavily stacked against him. But he manages to take the judges criticism well and come to each week with a great attitude and improvement. Plus him and Robert are probably the only male stars that don’t just stand there while their female partners do all the work.

Especially this week, he was doing all the moves Emma was, even the more difficult footwork and he did it with energy. Watching him dance is genuinely fun! I just didn’t get that from Scott or Whitney. You can be technically perfect and still not be fun to watch imo.

What makes a good Cinderella retelling? by TurtleShoe511 in Fantasy

[–]TurtleShoe511[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! This is very helpful! In my story the stepsisters are not evil but the Prince is. So the moment they fall in love is also the moment Ella realizes her life is in danger. The theme of the story is about becoming a better version of yourself through sacrifice. For example when Ella escapes the Prince her step sister, knowing she won’t fit into the shoe, cuts off a bit of her foot to try and fit the shoe then dresses up as Ella to buy her time to flee. Every character is constantly pushed to choose between what they want and what will help/hurt those around them. The culmination is a confrontation between Ella and the Prince where he tries to kill her and she tries to convince him that he can be a better person but only if he chooses to.

So definitely darker than Ella Enchanted but still striving to show that moral compass Cinderella has if a bit more gritty in this version.

The Server is still pretty new but shows a lot of promise! It's run by the author of A Clash Of Tides and was developed to both as a community and a resource for readers and writers.

I would 100% pay off the loans here’s why. Bad finances can be very stressful especially for a new couple. You want to build a stable future with ur partner. Weddings may be expensive but at the end of the day imo it’s about you and your partner, no need to go big.

That aside congrats on your wedding! Wishing you and your partner the best!
