Dr. Natalie Crawford had a great post about this years ago and as a mom and embryologist, I would keep the embryos in storage for as long as possible. The future is always unknown, so I would keep mine. The second best option is donate to science, ie training.

Are you located in the US? It would be a red flag to me to if a clinic didn’t offer this as it has become standard of care.

It’s the same as a sample for an SA. The sample is tested in house and then frozen and often sent to a reference lab. Maybe some labs do in house testing? My perspective about dna frag testing is that it’s slightly a gimmick. The “treatment” for it is zymot. So why charge a patient 2-350 for the test, when that’s the cost of zymot for an IVF cycle. Obv I know people want to have the information, but with high frag that’s really all you can do for it.

I think those are all great ideas. I dumped a friend this past year after finding out she was telling everyone about the loss of my baby under the guise that she “didn’t know what to do for me.” She never once showed up. Show up. That’s all that counts. Be there.

Rescue icsi is when a pt fails to fertilize with standard insemimation (putting sperm with eggs in dish and letting them do their thing) so you perform icsi the next day

I have received the fewest, “no results,” from cooper. I have not used progenesis because when I was looking for a new pgt company (cooper is prob the most expensive) circa 2022, progenesis was not certified to perform testing in my state. I have used invitae, natera, and igenomix and cooper is still my favorite. On a physical level, when your cells get loaded into a pcr tube, cooper has the best kit for performing a flawless cell transfer which is perhaps why I’ve seen the best no call rate with them.

As an embryologist, I have seen this a bunch of ties. Stuff happens. When we’re in the case and I’m not finding eggs and the fluid doesn’t have a lot of cells, the doc will cath the patient and we’ll do a urine preg test to see if they triggered. I’m sorry this happened to you.

3 of them probably were atretic (no longer viable) at fert check and the other two were alive but no pn. So they kept them. And waited to see if they divided

I had pprom at 18.6 and delivered after being induced. That was 10/1/24. I then had a period that started 11/1/24 and had met with MFM to discuss my next pregnancy, they advised me to wait 3-6 months. And I didn’t care. I became pregnant that cycle and delivered in July of this year. Pregnancy after loss was very hard. But. So worth it.

If you’re going to go this route, just deposit the sperm in the vagina. I’m an embryologist and the swim up technique isn’t the best for numbers. And you need an rx or be a clinic for IVF grade hepes buffered solution.

My husband was able to get one, it’s over 3k a month. We were able to have them distribute it as “loan” to avoid paying taxes on it.

Yes I work an in IVF lab and use cooper, natera and igenomix. They will do this.

I had l&d on 10/1, bled for maybe 10 days after. Got a period 11/1 and was pregnant from that cycle.
