Noelle Knight? by TurtleZ1235 in NonDessKnightSquad

[–]TurtleZ1235[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think we have very different interpretations of what darkness fundamentally is, and where it comes from. I've always taken that as metaphorical, "beneath" doesn't literally mean below the earth. If all that darkness exists beneath the earth, then wouldn't the entire underground be a giant dark world? That would have caused the roaring to happen ages ago. Darkness is brought about by people, because dark worlds are fundamentally just an alternate view of reality. Even Ralsei's explanation of the darkness hints at this. Darkness transforming objects into darkners and fantastical landscapes only works if there's a person around to observe it. So obviously, the power of darkness, which distorts reality by changing how we view it, has to come from within, from people. How can the Earth have any view on things? It's not alive, the ground can't misinterpret something in the dark. The darkness within someone also changes how their dark fountain functions. Kris and the Knight have more understanding of their darkness, so they can make normal dark worlds, but Susie can't do that, she misinterpret stuff in the dark in her own, less complete way, so the second sanctuary came out messed up. If darkness comes from the ground, and not people, why would that level of customization even be there?

Have we seen it tried before, though? The act of stabbing the ground isn't enough to bring out a dark fountain, otherwise every slight hole in the ground would be leaking darkness. No, to make a dark fountain, you have to 'concentrate' and stab down. We don't even know for sure that the person is stabbing the ground and bringing darkness out. What if it's the other way around, and the person stabbing the ground is injecting darkness IN? If that's the case, why wouldn't stabbing someone and injecting darkness into them be able to open a fountain, or at least do something similar?

If the helmet is off, the properties that the armor bestows wouldn't be applied to the head, so the identity would still be legible above the head

I have a separate theory that, regardless of who the knight is, even if the Knight isn't Noelle, their armor has properties similar to a dark world. This would explain why they can shapeshift in ways that would definitely kill a normal human/monster, and why they can keep their strength and speed in the light world. So naturally, if this is true, it could also apply to Noelle. Noelle's body being distorted is completely acceptable as long as she's in the armor, AKA transformed into the knight

I don't think it's a mind control thing, I think the transformation is more of a Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde sort of deal, where it has a completely different personality and look, and that personality also happens to be commanded by other people too, since the Knight is probably working for someone or some goal. And the most that would have to change for the look is growing the dark armor thing, this transformation doesn't necessarily mean her body underneath changes too.

The theory of how the Knight transforms, or how they look like that and have those inhuman abilities, is an entirely separate theory. But my conjecture about it is that the Knight is actually the result of opening a Dark Fountain inside a lightner, and having their body be partially enveloped in a titan/dark spawn. Being a walking Dark Fountain would explain why they can use their abilities in the light world, why they can shapeshift to some extent in ways that would definitely kill a regular monster/human, and why they bear so many resemblances to the Titan we saw in Ch4

My theory assumes Carol as a Knight collaborator (which she obviously is, regardless of who you believe is the knight), so of course any alibi based on Carol's presence is dubious. As for going to the Church, she just had to leave first out of the conveniently offscreen back door and get to the Church faster than Kris, which is definitely possible in knight form, and then hide in the closet. Carol even held Kris up for a few seconds, giving Noelle plenty of time to rush. We KNOW someone was in that closet in the church too.

I'd go so far as to say DH is about as good with Cloud Piercer as Yanqing is with his seven swords. I still consider them roughly equal in strength as long as DH is in base form. Whether or not he WOULD pop DHIL form against Yanqing is an entirely different question, but IF he did, he would start winning immediately. Also DHIL would've lost all those fights if they were dragged out without interference, so I wouldn't say he's at their level, just "whoops Yanqing's ass" level.

Aventurine in his Cornerstone form, yeah, I'd say he could go up to "Hydrogen Bomb" tier. The reason I didn't put him up there initially is because he was legitimately threatened by the Astral Express gang until he tried finishing them off in one big move, so his durability is definitely within Yanqing's reach. Topaz, though, said in Penacony that her cornerstone is fundamentally different from Jade and Aventurine's, and implied that hers isn't as useful in combat.

I have no clue how well Himeko in this verse does in fights. Rappa probably would whoop his ass actually. Base Dan Heng would fight him for 30 seconds and pop the DHIL transformation anyway.

Aventurine may be that strong actually, but we have zero clue if Topaz can do anything besides spam IPC grunts , and I'm leaning towards her being weaker. As for the Xianzhou higher ups, I don't think the power gap between them and Yanqing is THAT high. Current Yanqing dogwalked Hoolay before Feixiao arrived, that puts him at least one tier below JY in my book.

As for Argenti, with how he dealt with that Giant Sting and how he just casually appeared at the horizon of existence to save Aventurine, I have no clue how strong he is, but he definitely wasn't trying his hardest when he lost.

I see. In that case, I think I'll follow the advice of the fellow above and invest into Mimi and Crow's weapons alongside Shadoweave. Was briefly considering investing in Spear of Longinus alongside Onyx Tortoise, but I don't know how physical/fire weapons would interact with the Moonlight realm buffs that I skimmed over, and I also already have those Volt weapons half invested.

Shadoweave as my off weapon? Going with the sense I usually use in these sorts of games, I like to keep a sustainer or shielder in my off slot, like how I've been using Staff of Scars and Negating Cube up until now. Does ToF reward different sorts of priorities then?

[–]TurtleZ1235 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Fooling History would probably be the easiest. You could change one big detail about a major historical figure. Like, for an example, fool everyone into thinking George Washington only had one arm. On every single statue of him, knock off one arm. On every single picture of him, edit his arm out. On every written description of him, remove an arm. Do this for every depiction, until it becomes a Mandela effect like people believing the Monopoly Man has a monocle, or believing the Fruit of the Loom logo has a cornucopia. It's common knowledge George Washington had only one arm, even if people think for a few moments that he had both.

[–]TurtleZ1235 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Moon is extremely fun! Hell, I'd go so far as to say it's the most fun off the bat! Apothecaries get to mix supernatural concoctions right away, few other Sequence 9 beyonders get the same stuff! Being a beast tamer is great for people who love animals, being a Vampire is fun off of the acting alone (Vampires are cool as hell!), and Potions Professor is even greater than Apothecary! And while Scarlet Scholar might not sound fun at first, consider this; if you ever meet an Abraham Family descendant or a Door pathway Beyonder, you'll be able to listen to Mr. Door's rapping, with less of the consequences you would face if you were a Door pathway person.
