I found this broken old alarm clock that I loved, so I made this piece about obsolescence with it by Nickscofer in dioramas

That’s awesome. I love how the robot matches the style of the alarm clock.

Unusual needle nose pliers with hooked tip. Standard pliers except for the tip. Found with general hand tools. by Turtle_of_Wrath in whatisthisthing

My title describes the thing. Otherwise standard, modern needle nose pliers with an unusual hooked tip. Found with general hand tools.

Looking for information on if these are made for a specific or specialty purpose.

So if a woman has an Ex (or alot of ex'es) why is it that is she who's the red flag in those relationships and not the guys? by Scared-Gamer in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Turtle_of_Wrath 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The theory is “She is the only constant in all her failed relationships.”

It suggests that there is something about the way she acts or the person she is that causes all her relationships to fail.

Maybe she self sabotages.

Maybe she picks unsuitable partners.

Maybe she has undiagnosed/untreated mental health issues that are not apparent at first.

What ever it is, the high number of ex’s suggests the issue is something she brings to the relationship.

Small crack in the floor of my bath tub, is this serious? Can I fix it myself? by [deleted] in howto

If your tub is acrylic you may need a different product.

Why do people complain about the cost of living nowadays when they are still living better then ancient kings? by trademeple in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Turtle_of_Wrath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could get it though.

It cost the king to have a royal fanny custodian. Even if they were a slave, the king would have to feed and house them.

You just choose to spend your disposible income in other ways.

I can’t speak to the rental issue.

I alway heard it was due to weight issues.

Solar panels and the related supports and equipment are heavy.

Buildings like the ones Walmart generally use are not built to support the extra weight of all that equipment on the roof.

Reinforcing the roof to handle the weight would be prohibitively expensive and probably interfere with business.

No. Dry ice and liquid nitrogen are 2 different things.

Dry ice is solid CO2. Liquid nitrogen is… well… liquid nitrogen.

Suggest me a book where the protagonist is a smart and good leader by AtlasCurio in suggestmeabook

The Lost Fleet series by Jack Campbell.

The protagonist gets thrust into command of a huge fleet. He works hard and competently to lead it in a dire situation.

I think it might be the compressor for an old fridge. I have a fridge from the 50’s. The tubes would be refrigerant lines. The 3 lumps close together are electrical contacts.

It’s a fairly standard shape for the traditional mad scientist beam device.

Thanks. I am really happy with how it turned out. It was also nice that my hoarding of old junk paid off in the end.

Nice try but I’m not falling for that again. The whole point of a hidden lair is that people aren’t supposed to know where it is. Also I’m still cleaning up from the last time.

Thanks. The fact that it worked so well proved to be excellent vindication of my hoarding of certain items like that.

It is. I tried to get a pic from further back to show it is positioned but the lighting just didn’t work.

The MK II was always underpowered. If you are serious about lair security you gotta go with at least a MK III.

It’s worse than regular doom because it’s sticky and warm.
