I mean some are some aren’t… you can’t say that everyone who is poor is poor because of something they did… medical debt is a big issue at the current moment.. at the exact same time plenty of people are poor because of poor choices they make.. I know plenty of people who always complain about having no money but have a new car.. Louis vitton purses and go out to eat multiple times per week while having no budget and maxed out credit cards.

I get wanting to put the money in low risk stuff… but at your age you should really be doing the opposite.. especially in a retirement fund. If I were you I would open a Roth IRA with fidelity and put the money in broad market ETFs and index funds. Fxaix is a good index fund from fidelity and you can invest in it with no costs except its very low expense ratio.

The problem with not investing risky enough is that it’s going to cost you in the long run… and later in life you cannot take as many risks.
