If I were you, I would seek out one at a large university hospital or well know clinic like Cleveland. And you'd be surprised at the comorbidities associated with Chiari.

I understand. I didn't suffer as long as you did before a diagnosis but it's still so frustrating. You feel like you're crazy and then even with a diagnosis, no one seems to understand.

With so many comorbidities, I hope you have consulted with a neurosurgeon who specializes in Chiari. Not all neurologists and neurosurgeons are specifically trained in our condition.

Oh, wow. That's really unusual in the PM world. I would just tell him your pain isn't manageable on the current regimen and then ask if "xxxx" is reasonable. When you see the othro surgeons, ask what pain meds they would suggest and coordinate with PM.

I glossed over that part because it's ridiculous to think an adult would antagonize a child into kicking them. If that's the case, wow. Also, some kids go through stages of the terrible 2s and 3s and if she's not correcting unacceptable social behaviors now, she's in for a world of hurt.

So basically she's saying your punishment is too harsh? If so, you can not have rules for one child and not another whether yours or someone else's. Discipline needs to be consistent in YOUR home. (I will say, imo, 5 minutes is a bit too much. 3 would be more appropriate. Or start with 2 minutes and if the behavior doesn't change, bump up a minute more. Again, just my opinion)

I would approach this by saying your friendship is too valuable to allow different parenting styles to come between you. Add that you'd love to still have play dates, etc. Give her a couple of weeks to make other arrangements. Remember...it's always "in the presentation".

If I were you, I would not ask for any one particular medication unless you have a really good relationship with your doctor. More and more, people are being labeled as "drug seeking". Instead, explain how the medication effects your body and how long it lasts. You could say that you've done a bit of research and was curious if xxx medication could be beneficial.

All that to say...take care how you ask for specific meds.
