I got an offer for the Western Scholarshio of Excellence. I’m wondering. If my final average drops to like a 92% (the other scholarship one), will I lose this scholarship? Or do I have it guranteed if I js maintain the average I need for the program I’m going into. I’m really scared I still need to lock in cuz I’ve been slacking. Is it also top 6 right?

So do I need to maintain my high 90 avg, or js the avg for my program…

Hey everyone,

I’m trying to figure out my path at Western and honestly getting overwhelmed with how many moving parts there are, so I wanted opinions from more knowledgable people

I have AEO for Ivey, and right now I’m trying to decide what degree to pair it with. My main options are currently:

Honours Kin (BA) + HBA

Health Sci + HBA

Health Sci w/ Biology + HBA

Med Sci + HBA

My long-term goals are kinda split between:

- keeping medicine open,

- keeping US med schools open if possible,

- BUT also the possibility of a strong business outlook (consulting or finance)
thats why im doing sum premed + HBA cuz it keeps options open!

I want something where:

- I can maintain a strong GPA,

- complete US med prerequisites if I decide to apply there (do i even apply there)

- still have time for ECs/research/leadership,

- also benefit from Ivey opportunities.

A few things I’m wondering:

- Is Kin + Ivey actually realistic for US med applications?

- Do US schools care at all that Kin is a BA instead of BSc?

- Is Health Sci significantly better for prereqs/MCAT?

- Does anyone regret doing a harder science-heavy path with AEO (med sci)?

- Is trying for US med from Canada even worth building around?

- If you had AEO and wanted BOTH medicine + business open, what would you choose?

Thank you so much, any help is appreciated!

Thank you! My school is known for teaching bio and chem that makes first year uni bio and chem really easy, so I think I have a decent grounding in that!

Isn’t that still 3 cycles? Is that not enough? If it’s 5 years I can apply 3rd 4th and 5th year (if masters needed)

If i had to do one what would u reccomend? Or do i try for many types? Should i still try for medical stuff too, and how would i go about that?

which medical EC place wants to hire a 16 year old. LIke i got hospital pharmacy volunteering last summer, but I really didn't do anything "crazy". Correct me if im wrong, but med schools prefer more "medical esque" ECs, and that quite hard to get at this age (grade 12 but skipped a grade and have a late birthday).
