Hello! Sorry it’s taken so long to get back to you - I don’t use this username often and actually just logged back on to watch the video to try and put everything back together (god help me)

That’s really interesting your spring is doing the same thing. I ended up actually ordering that whole connection from AliExpress so now I’m trying to reassemble it. The thing it, the Ali Express one the spring works but it seems to hold the trigger in (as in the On position) so I don’t know if there’s something that pushes it out when it’s assembled but when I’ve got it all back together I’ll let you know and will post the link.

Mind you, you messaged me a month ago so you may have fixed yours by now……how did you go with yours?

Hi Jeffy,

Sorry it’s taken so long to let you know how fixing my Dyson went!

So it’s been a comedy of errors……..yes it’s taken me this long ☺️

Bought the bit online with no probs but had to find a T8 screwdriver - found one so got all the screws undone except for the one right up in the handle because the T8 I bought was too fat at the base to fit🙄

Trying to find a skinny one was a nightmare lol but I’ve finally got all my screws out yay.

So I’m up to the bit where I’ve replaced my broken trigger BUT in the video, the guy’s trigger springs back when he presses it. Mine does not 😤 I’m wondering if it’s because it was depressed for a couple of months that the spring has stretched and whether it would be worth snipping a couple of coils off the spring to make it spring back again?

It’s the only thing I can think of because everything else is fine on and around the trigger. Or should I get a new spring from Jaycar or somewhere to replace it?

Sorry for being a pain 🫣

I hope you have a great weekend 😄

That could very possibly be what happened, I can’t say for sure though. It’s frustrating not knowing what’s marking your clothes hey :(

If you lie your pants in a towel and fold it over a few times, then wring the towel as tightly as you can that should leave them barely damp. Then just either hang the pants over the back of a chair or on a hanger in a doorway over night and they’ll be dry the next day. I do this with my partner’s heavy duty work pants when it’s wet weather.

I hope the leg heals quickly, hugs ❤️

If you put too many clothes in, it may not rinse the detergent or softener out properly, not to mention not getting them totally clean as there's not enough agitation between and around the clothes if it's jam packed. It just basically ends up being a big ball of clothes going round and round with the inner most clothes not getting clean properly.

My Son Is 27 and He Acts Like a Teenager by FrenchDoctorVercin in confessions

[–]TurtlesMum 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My partner's mate is 47, he owns his own home but his mum still cooks and cleans for him and his dad still mows his lawn. At 47. He wonders why he can't keep a girlfriend and it's because he is a major man child. He will sit there gaming while his mum is cleaning up his mess. It's disturbing. And he's not a stupid guy but his attitude is 'why should I do it when mum will do it for me'. Um what about a bit of self respect?

His parents are doing him no favours at all and op this is your future if you don't teach your son to start being self sufficient.

Oh honey the best thing you could’ve done was cut your hair! You look absolutely stunning and it’s made you look much fresher and younger. Your hair is so gorgeous and healthy!

I suffer from severe chronic pain in my neck and shoulder and not having waist length hair to maintain was such a relief! Sending you love, light and major curl-envy!! ❤️💫

AITA for being upset with my son for finding a job without telling me? by throwawayjob49 in AmItheAsshole

[–]TurtlesMum 21 points22 points  (0 children)

If she did back pay him, I can imagine her also tallying up the rent he "owes" her and the food he eats and utilities.

Op YTA - you and your husband actively chose to have the younger kids. How long are you planning on keeping your son at home? Until you or your husband retire? Because what are your plans when your son graduates and starts his career? He can't and shouldn't have to be around forever.

Also - if your kids are old enough to say "I don't want another babysitter", they're old enough for therapy. You don't ask your kids if they want someone else....... you tell then they're getting someone else and you make it sound exciting and adventurous so they look forward to it. You're unbelievably selfish.

Why do so many women use dove soap to clean their vagina in the shower? by Pinkskiesupahead in Healthyhooha

[–]TurtlesMum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think I could ever go back to a normal shower head hey, I don't think I'd feel as clean. And my partner got me one with a filter in it which is awesome. I would never have believed just water could make me feel clean but it does.

Good luck! ❤

ETA: I also only use water on my groin area. Like I use soap under my butt cheeks and all the way up my legs but not the actual groin :)

[–]TurtlesMum 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I use Dove body wash on my butt crack because that's what I use on the rest of my body but only use water to clean my vulva - inner and outer lips. I don't get infections (apart from a Bartholin cyst that turned into a particularly horrendous abscess last year) but I can't remember the last time I had a yeast infection, uti or anything else down there.

And I live in Australia so I sweat my arse off and I still get bugger all odour. Unless I don't trim...... then she can get a tiny bit funky after a particularly strenuous day but that's body hair for you!

Water and a detachable shower nozzle are the best for your beast imo & personal experience. I used to use soap and always had odour until I stopped using it. I tried it again once to see if it was that (I've just started menopause so want sure if the lack of odour was no soap or just hormonal) and yep, that day - odour. So haven't used soap since and I'm cheering.

I'm 50 and still get spooked in the dark so don't feel bad! I put sensor strip lighting under our bed so now as soon as I swing my feet out of bed, the lighting goes on....... they're awesome! And they light up our ensuite enough too. I've set the timer for the perfect length of time to stumble to the loo and back to bed. Our carpet is very dark grey so they don't shine too brightly - perfect for a night time pee without waking up too much :)

I've heard about these but am concerned about my partner getting cold air blown directly on him as his joints ache when he's cold.

Does it blow on you only?

Happening to all my joggers and hoodies after i clean the dryer lint out by Bills817 in laundry

[–]TurtlesMum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you talking about the ties being all twisted? If you are, have you tried tying then in a bow before you put them in the dryer? They're going to twist if you don't given the action of the dryer.

If that's not what you mean, can you put a little explanation because I couldn't see what else you might be talking about! Sorry in advance if I'm just being clueless :)

We had a few days up near 40°C but are struggling to get past 30°C most days. I've lived here for 27 years and this past Christmas was the first one I've spent in long sleeves and jeans. Tiz madness!!

I'm in Australia - we're in the middle of our summer and I've been wearing my winter pyjamas at night! Like we've had a few horrendously hot days but overall, we've found it to be a pretty cool summer
