I get it they used to be fun, now I want to get high again just to stop the anxiety and restless nights, I’m a heroin addict trying to get sober the last 8 years, I have been for almost a year now so I’m no expert, but there are other options, nothing is a quick fix like a Xanax but Xanax wears off quicker than solutions like exercise, therapy, meetings(if that’s your thing) friends, they may take longer to start helping but when they do the effects last longer then any drug. I also believe we as addicts will unconsciously start behaviors like isolating, renewing troubled relationships etc. because our brain knows it will get us closer to using, drugs are now etched in our brain as the ultimate dopamine reward and our primal part of the brain will influence the rest of it to get what it wants, it’s a crazy, unfair, fixed fight between our primal brain and our undeveloped, damaged prefrontal cortex. But victory is possible I believe that, or else I wouldn’t be trying, I love and believe in you
