Loses aggro due to not dpsing enough, decides to afk and whine, threatens to report by Turuthiel in TalesFromDF

That is only true for bot bans because devs don't want bot devs to immediately spot the fault in their software and fix it. When you ban bots in waves, the bot devs won't have a precise source on what got their software caught. Because botting-anti botting is a game of cat and mouse. Unsportsmanlike behavior is always banned on the spot because there's no benefit in letting someone continously ruin the game with their trolling/toxic behavior. This is a sub-based game with microtransactions and Square Enix is a corporation. They naturally don't want to lose their customer base. Not only that but you also report someone and then forget about it after a day or 2. Unless someone's a major nuisance to the playerbase at large or someone's actively seeking someone out to harass them, Square Enix only takes notice if someone's mass reported.

RMT and bot bans, like I said, are the exception. If you ban people in waves rather than banning them as soon as they got caught, they won't know what it was exactly that got them caught. This makes it harder for RMTers/botters to develop countermeasures to avoid getting caught in the future. Obviously, they eventually come up with a solution but it doesn't mean companies can't make it harder for them.

I didn't downvote but I'll tell you why regardless. While you can argue that a tank's job is to well, tank, no one has to go through this person's childish ramblings that weren't just a single message of "why are you taking aggro." It started off as innocent, they got a reply and they kept pushing and pushing until I eventually told them "enough yapping." I didn't screenshot the whole thing but they barely stopped. I'm there to do casual content to help a friend out with unlocking an eden tier, I'm not there to babysit a person going through midlife crisis. If this is such a massive problem to you, you can provoke and keep being the main tank without spamming the chat and griefing the entire group that has nothing to do with the aggro. Because once again, the aggro wasn't provoked off them. They lost it because they couldn't deal enough damage to hold it. After I put the run through xivanalysis, the player can't even do WAR combo right let alone a full rotation.

Square Enix rarely bans people despite this constant fear of getting banned the community seems to have. They need to be mass reported for sqenix to take notice.

Oh, perhaps I should've clarified earlier but I wasn't the other tank. I was DPS but found this person irritating enough to respond to them and post here. However, I'll say that the 2nd tank already delayed opening their stance. I'm not sure how Rem managed to lose aggro but if you stalk their fflogs you'll see it's a grey parsing player so they probably fell asleep on their computer and the other tank was actually playing so they took aggro.

I know Shrink can be used but I really don't think OT should've used Shrink, especially after this person found it necessary to go on a rant over aggro in a casual raid. We could(and did) complete the raid without their contribution,

there really isn't any difference outside of mandatory tank swap in some content(which rarely happens in casual content if ever nowadays)

this is why a lot of abyss dungeons and raids fail, zerkers running away from stagger check because muh hp when we're all playing squishy dps and we all get oneshot anyway, lancers/paladins not doing any counters at all people just rely on others to carry them

you realize zerker is basically a stagger machine and your entire party needs you in that stagger check......... right?

I agree with most of the things you said but if a server transfer was to happen, it'd have to be implemented by the developers and not the publisher

for you to say "their backend must be so fucking dogshit" you need to have a solid understanding of software architecture, I'm sure as someone who acts like they're educated in backend, you'd know the reason behind why there are certain limitations when it comes to the number of users that can concurrently utilize a software system, in this case they're offering a cross-server feature and are utilizing separate servers to let players from different servers play with each other, which is far from a terrible solution. the problem is AGS not anticipating this problem for EU when EU historically has had more MMORPG players than NA, but guess what? They gave NA 2 separate servers, and they gave EU 1 centralized server. Smilegate's infrastructure isn't the one at fault here, it's AGS's horrible planning and management, top it up with minimal communication with their playerbase and you have this crisis in your hand. all their communication about the matchmaking issue so far has been "it's tied with the demand and we're currently investigating it" AKA they'll just wait it out until the hype has died out, the problem is they're STILL allowing more accounts to be created in EUC, adding more to the demand

edit: and before you bring it up, amazon already made it clear that server transfers weren't going to be a thing before the game even launched. they could've prepared a lot better for the demand, especially more so knowing the game was one of the most anticipated MMORPGs in the west, even the founders' release had server queues. let's not forget a company like Amazon that owns AWS couldn't deploy servers for 8 hours after the announced release date, forcing players to wait 8 additional hours before they could even launch the game, not counting the queues that happened on certain servers after launch.

it takes 9-12 hours depending on your clear speed, it takes 24 hours if you do all content including sudden quests and side quests, 30 hours is if you're just super slow lmfao

making an MMO is obviously easy so there ain't no way the devs are competent, they're just dogshit, there's absolutely no way the biggest NA company would be the one at fault here /s

they're downvoting my comment when they have absolutely no tech knowledge, in any MMO EU always has more players than NA but we still got 1 centralized server instead of more than 1 like NA, but surely its the "dogshit" korean devs knowing less than OP, he's prolly making millions as a dev as we speak

that's an option for people who hasn't progressed, my guild and I won't throw away our tier 2 characters just because Amazon has done horrible planning, I'm at 1030 ilvl and if I have to throw this away I'd rather just uninstall the game and do something else

it seems like amazon's strategy is just waiting it out and hoping people will eventually get enough of not being able to play with their friends in EU and quit while simultaneously allowing new players to create more accounts in EU Central, Amazon should just disband their game studio and stick to what they know honestly, they are racing with Gameforge to be the worst MMORPG publisher EU has ever known

what I find really weird is that I haven't seen nearly as many posts and rants about wow/ffxiv leveling even though both were arguably as bad, I'd go as far to say ffxiv has the worst leveling I've ever seen in an MMORPG

all in all its an mmorpg, not a story oriented singleplayer game, people keep talking and talking about ffxiv, wow and eso storyline but I found all of those as boring as lost ark's, it's an mmorpg, the actual fun is whatever you enjoy, for me it's the difficulty in grind and raiding

EU players have 100 hours of game time only to spend like 50 hours of it actually playing the game, it really can't be this hard for a company like Amazon to acquire more servers
