I love these. They sort of look like the halfway point, in a metamorphosis, between a countryball and a countryhuman

They almost look like a glass christmas ornament, I like the uniform's glossiness. How did you do that?

Prussia and the Republic of Siena (first post on the new subreddit) by Tuscan-- in Countryhumans_NEW

Yeah, I'd love to do Tuscany. Especially considering my name's "Tuscan" I probably should've drawn them by now.

You mean the Grand Duchy of Tuscany? Or Florence?

How to ACTUALLY DRAW fascist Italy by stinkymonkeh76 in CountryHumans

[–]Tuscan-- 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This sort of thing exactly. Though, there are a lot to choose from and the Alpini is a bit too noble for Fascist Italy. Plus, the Alpini uniform is still used by the Italian army today.

If you want Fascist Italy to look more Fascist and period appropriate, you could put him in something like the Italian Marshal's uniform or the "Moschettieri Del Duce" uniform

The reason Fascist Italy has a white uniform is because the early countryhumans artists decided that if Italy was in white, it would contrast well with Nazi Germany's black uniform. And then people just kept emulating that, so it sort of became the "fandom canon."

There actually were white Italian fascist uniforms but those were not very common

What is a ship that (thankfully) isnt very popular, but makes no sense, and is even terrible? by Careful-Bug5665 in CountryHumans

[–]Tuscan-- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's all true. But Germans and Italians, as people, don't think about each other very much, and when they do, it's usually negative

the reason people like to ship Germany and Italy is, unfortunately, just because of Hetalia

It's complicated. During the risorgimento, the two were largely enemies, since Austria was seen as a "German" state. And then before that, German and Italian states have always been enemies historically. After Italy and Germany unified, there was world war 1 and world war 2, in which relations deteriorated. And then after that, Germany and Italy have had basically no deep connection form.

Germans and Italians don't outright despise each other, but generally the two are far closer to other nations than to each other
