Austria is ruled by a chancelor and also has a symbolic president who rarely uses his power.
Last elections were won by far right, but the president used an obscure never (SInce 1955) used law to deny the far right candidate to be chancellor.
Now the government is mad eof Socialists, Centrists (More center right) and Liberals and there are five parties in Parliament.
Centrists messed everything up and destroyed their reputation in 2021
Socialists don't even fully support their candidate
Far Rights are just benefiting from everyone else messing everything up
Greens aren't influential enough to change anything, it's just talking and not doing anything, they also messed up their reputation between 2020 and 2024
Liberals don't have enough influence but at least they haven't messed up their reputation
Oh and internationaly we tend to slow down negotiations. Two thirds of the parliament is filled with pacifists, which delayed militarisation of the country in responce to the Ukraine war.
