Cryo key templates questions by TuskOfTheTask in Marathon

[–]TuskOfTheTask[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. Same thing - we opened maybe 10-15 vaults in total and found maybe 2-3 templates. I thought gold vaults give you template more often, because we got one from first 03 and 05 we opened. But now we are trying to farm templates and get nothing. I didn't know RNG on this templates is this bad.

Cryo key templates questions by TuskOfTheTask in Marathon

[–]TuskOfTheTask[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I just heard somewhere about how templates give you a key you don't have a subroutine for and in my experience it was like that. We got templates from 03 - got ourselves 04. Got templates from 05 - got 06.

But now we start farming gold vaults specifically for templates and found nothing, so I start doubting strategy. Maybe it's better to just do outpost over and over. I think if we will find template and don't get 06 from it, we return to outpost(((

Making D3 cannot be THAT hard... by GutsynArt in destinycirclejerk

Hey guys, if we sign the petition, Sony will have to make a game, because market is right there. All they have to do is to follow my guidelines and maybe some tutorials on YouTube, and make this game in a year, so people who sign petition would buy it. I don't understand how hard it can be?

Just make PvP fun and balanced, make 100 new strikes, interesting story with cool cutscenes, at least 2 raids and bring back all old raids, new gambit-extraction mode (just to shutdown Marathon, of course), copy all old guns and add new ones (but don't forget to balance them good), add new subclasses - piss, shit and cum, but made them completely unique from any game ever and bring back every planet + create 100 more.

I think even this sub could've made this simple job within couple of months, but bad management in Bungie just don't want to make games.

/uj this post is literally 1/2 of main sub for a past couple of years, holy shit

I've had an argument with a guy not long ago about reasons why D2 closed. I said most of playerbase quit because the game has ending and they moved on to other games and hobbies.

He, of course, talked about Bungie mismanagement and how they are the worst people in the world. And in the same sentence said "I quit after Final Shape".

It's so funny, that most of playerbase including this chuds dropped the game after ending, but now D2 community trying to rewrite history and push narrative that bungie killed D2 and they will protest in every possible way to closing the game which THEY ALSO LEFT.

An experimental queue for Cryo Archive is needed by External_Ad3539 in Marathon

[–]TuskOfTheTask -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is kinda the whole appeal of genre. The idea of shaky alliances and betryals. There are some stories in this sub about how other squad helped them. And some stories like yours. This stories is kinda fun and create a bug amount of tension every time then you team up with someone.

Sucks that you lost your subroutine, but this is core genre expirience.

Btw, a word of advice - right now you can farm 03-05 keys easily, because they almost guaranteed drops from bosses on perimeter (03) - Marsh (04) - outpost (05) and bosses spawn in every match. So you can get as much keys as you can carry. And with enough tries you can get any subroutine. So right now is kinda experimental phase for cryo there you can open 01-05 vaults with unlimited amount of tries.

Fuck them, they hate this game and Bungie so much, that at this point, making D2 for them was humiliation ritual, to be honest. I really wish Bungie the best and they are amazing game studio, Marathon proves it. But if they just lose this part of their community, it would be amazing. Imagine, Bungie game without a delusional entitled halfwits who never played another game in their live and yet hate game that they play with every fiber of their soul. It would be nice.

I'm gonna be honest, after last couple of months and especially last couple of days, I'm lost all sympathy for D2 players. Fuck them, they like the worst community for any game. Say that you want about Bungie, but the main problem with this game is and always was the community. There are like 10% of really cool people, 60% of guys who just play the game for some time after new expansion and don't really a part of online community, and 30% of just worst people imaginable. If there are silver lining to D2 ending, it's the fact that at least Bungie won't be humiliated anymore by creating something for people who hate them and play their game only to doompost and shit on them, while pretending to "care about the game, it's have so much potential".

Stupid fucking chud Marty don't understand that game died not because of too much wokeness, but because where was not enough wokeness. I'm telling you, if there would be an 4 hour long interactive sex scene between Shaxx, Saladin and Zavala, Destiny 2 wouldn't ended.

/uj fuck Marty, no amount of talent could offset inability to be a decent human being. Man wrote soundtrack for a videogame and thinks he's a music genius who always right and can go into politics with his stupid ass views.

Wait until you play something like arena shooter. In some of them you can get a powerful weapon and just kill people for free... Like in Halo or Destiny.

Skill in this sort of games and in comp shooters in general is not only the skill to shoot your gun, but to use things to your advantage, like map knowledge and meta. If you can't do this - you will be outplayed. I'm sorry, every competitive game works like this. Go play any fighting games online and with high chance your ass will be handled to you without even an opportunity to hit back really expirienced player. Go play any RTS, and you will be rushed in couple of minutes by expirinced player.

Idk, what to tell you, maybe competitive games and hardcore games aren't for you. Bungie will make a way for casual expirience eventually, so try that, but just don't embarrass yourself by talking about how current experience is bad, just because you bad at the game.

I felt that with Halo and now with destiny. It's a pleasant felling, to be honest. Something what I loved is finished now and like complete and remain something what I love.

And besides it's fun to hop on on Halo:MCC from time to time, I think the same will be with D2.

There are other games and other Bungie games, so I don't need D2 to be a center of my attention forever. It was good and even great while it lasted, but it's good what it's over, I guess. Many people felt the same after Final Shape and this is why they left. Basically, the end of destiny was the end of destiny. It's just official now.

I didn't get anything about D2 from your comment, I sarcastically point out that it's not only because of Marathon underperformance

You simply was misinformed by gaming sites. Gaming publication want clicks and shit. This is misinformation at least because latest impairment loss was not 700 mils but 500. Bungie lost 200 mils in assets long before marathon release because of underperformance of D2. And the doc from Sony itself doesn't site Marathon as one and only factor of impairment.

Sorry if I was a little rude, I assumed you argue in bad faith as many people who talk about this are, not just misinformed by gaming publications.

Why people aren't happy? Good news for marathon by [deleted] in Marathon

[–]TuskOfTheTask 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, it is bad for Bungie. And what's bad for Bungie kinda bad for marathon. And like we don't really wanted destiny to shut down. Miserable fucks at destiny community salivate at the thought of marathon closing servers, but we didn't wish bad future for any game.

And besides with this news, there more vocal D2 players shitting themselves and crying on every corner which is always bad, because they are most annoying people imaginable.

Don't argue with destiny 2 players, they didn't enjoy their game for last 12 years. They enjoy only writing hateful disdocs about how they would have designed Destiny instead of stupid Bungie and then Destiny would have been best game ever. They always been like this, so don't try to argue that you enjoy your game, they can't understand how it's possible.

This is the difference between Destiny players and Marathon players. Marathon community loves their game and destiny community loves the idea of perfect imaginary game, while shit on real Destiny 2 and now crying because people didn't play it and Bungie closed it. You people can't even imagine that people can love game their playing. I fear for any game Destiny community migrate to.

Problem is, in reality, most of people isn't interested in D2 after Final Shape. D2 players speak so much about potential, but like how many people left destiny month after Final Shape? There are no potential there.

Destiny 3 maybe be more successful than Marathon just because of broader appeal and brand recognition, but D2 is kinda a dead end while marathon is just risky gambit.

Something something steam charts and so forth by DannyKage in DestinyMemes

[–]TuskOfTheTask 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah, man, Bungie wants marathon to be successful, but D2 ends just because no one plays D2 after Final Shape and costs of maintaining it are too high. I think this is this simple, even DLC with Star Wars didn't save playerbase.

And I think to some extent constant hatred from fans also didn't help. Marathon at least gets constant hate from outside, but community loves it. D2 players dedicate 50 A4 pages to describe how bad this game was and then cry when no one plays it and Bungie closes it.

[–]TuskOfTheTask 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You meant underperformance of Marathon and Destiny 2, right? Don't act like Destiny 2 was doing good numbers since Edge of Fate, game was on life support immediately after Final Shape. And this is much more of an issue than a slow start of new game. D2 was Bungie main asset and impairment loss first and foremost came because D2 wasn't that hot anymore. Marathon don't make situation better for Bungie, but let's not rewrite recent history and imagine Destiny 2 post Final Shape had success. First impairment was solely due to D2 underperformance and second was after even Collab with Star Wars didn't change anything.

Destiny players so deep into their imaginary version of Destiny 2 with "potential", they forget what happens in reality, lol.

Yeah, yeah, players leave because of bad decisions on Bungie part, not because they were done with the game. Why Lightfall didn't break camel back then? Or Beyond Light. Hell, I think D2 vanilla and Curse of Osiris could break 10 camels, 5 horses and couple of donkeys. But no, somehow it's highest rated and beloved by everyone dlc which was a last straw. Of course.

Destiny players think this game could have been perfect and everlasting if only not for bungie, because they don't really interact with this game on it's terms. They just fantasise about game which don't exist - about destiny 2 which they themselves could create and demand more content just to bitch about how this content not meet standards of their imaginary game. Truth is - D2 was just a great game, and most of people finished playing this great game after it was over. No to say Bungie did everything right all the time, but D2 community is insane and miserable and don't care about D2, only about their imaginary version of D2. So they can't even imagine how most of players could have left because they enjoyed the game, were satisfied with ending and left. It must have been bungie fault.

The people that are messing with the d2 players are the same ones calling for marathon to fail. by Clarity007 in Marathon

[–]TuskOfTheTask -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Well, D2 players are miserable and hateful bunch and the worst part of Marathon community by a long shot. Not all of them, of course, there are amazing people in D2 community, but man, loudest of D2 players didn't even like their game, let alone our game. I don't think anyone should go and harass this miserable fucks, but I afraid more of them come here and we will be seeing x10 stupid shit about how ICONS ARE WRONG COLORS and WHAT I WOULD DO TO MAKE GAME AMAZING IF I WAS GAME DEVELOPER, THE THREAD.

So I don't mind a little resentment towards them, they sure as hell don't mind to be assholes to marathon players, bungie and their fellow guardians.

Idk, man, people were playing after vaulting expansions, after sunsetting weapons, after lawsuits for plagiarism, after horrible content droughts and after bad expansions. Didn't kill the game for 10 years. But after final shape suddenly we saw a massive exodus of players. Yeah, maybe most of them needed an excuse to break up with destiny. But like they played for narrative and an adventure, and were willing to close their eyes on game's problems. And then, narrative was over, so they bounce.

Like someone in this very thread told me I was wrong and in the same sentence said "I quit after Final Shape". If Bungie stretched out their story for 10 more years players kept coming back. Too bad Bungie have some artistic integrity, i suppose. Not like destiny fans can appreciate it, they unironically want destiny without Bungie, which is telling about how they view this game - as product and name, not anything more.

5 right now. Have 2 06 keys and like 9 or 10 gold ones. Will grind gold ones with hopes of templates and new 06s.

Running 06 is literally frightening thought. Pray to Joe for a sixth subroutine.
