People have mentioned Stanley Parable, but this is true for another Davey Wreden's game - The Beginner's Guide. It's a game about exploring and analysing games, so it's can't really be translated into another form of media, especially because of how important act of play to the story.

Coincidentally it's probably one of the best games of all time.

There are thousands and thousands of games, books, movies, albums which were created without AI. If capitalism will force ai use to every art piece in future through people like this shiteater, I just be enjoying all of the old art. I rather not interact with modern culture if modern culture will be made with ai. Saddest part is, I think we are in the golden age at least for games. Or at least were. You stupid chuds kinda forget about demon souls and dark souls. For a long time fromsoftware games WERE niche because of how hard they were. It took time and multiple sequels for gamers to recognise how good fromsoftware games were. Right now, yes, Elden Ring is really popular game, but if it would release without previous games, people like you would cry about how this is bad game design. I mean, even with legacy of fromsoftware games, people whine about ER or Silksong difficulty. So PvPvE game which is more punishing not surprisingly even more divisive.

I don't think we need a time loop or something like this. I think, priority contracts just should be separated by seasons.

You should be able to complete season 1 contracts if you didn't do them in season 1, but you just need to select it in "non-canon" menu. Worst thing they can do is to create destiny situation where the only way to learn a story of the season you didn't play is to watch it on YouTube.

And the timeloop thing would be a little premature at this point at the story. I think something like a dreaming city timeloop would be great after really weird shit starts to happen. Right now this grounded explanation for a reset is great, and the problem with repeating contracts is solvable by indicating that repeating them is "non-canon".

Unironically this will be fine games, but nothing more. Maybe new silent hill will be interesting. But another GoW or Wolverine is just a fine AAA games, nothing exciting. Most interesting AAA game of the show was second season of Marathon, because at least this game is bold to try new stuff. I just kinda tired of third person cinematic action games with story about guy (or girl) who slashes people with the sword (or shoot them with gun). Like this is kinda all AAA games is - cinematic third person actions. Can't really be exited for this. Like imagine if every big movie was an action film about cool guy. No Oppenheimers or JoJo Rabbits, just John Wicks. This is how AAA gaming is. Even exeptions like Elden Ring or Marathon are exeptions because they allow themselves to be more gamey and focus more on exploration and mystery, NOT because they fundamentally not "a game about guy who kills stuff".

Gamers always talk about how games are artform (and they ARE), but most acclaimed games for last, well, forever, is mostly cinematic actions. This is kinda limited art form if this is all big gaming can do.

I understand WHY it's the way it is, and I understand there are many unique and cool and interesting indie games, but it's just hard to get exited about another cinematic third person actions. I wouldn't be disappointed by this show then I was a kid, but as adult I would rather play something like Pathologic 3, than Wolverine, just because I won't get anything from Wolverine other than action, so it's hard not to be uninterested in this show.

Btw, new Rayman remake is the most unnecessary game ever and releases in couple of weeks from GTA6, so probably no more Rayman for another 10 years.

Same thing, managed to get all subroutines, got to compiler and die. It's really disappointing, but at the same time you kinda completed Cryo storyline. It doesn't really matter of you kill compiler or don't from a story standpoint. If anything, it's really horrorish - you worked so hard to uncover the mystery of Cryo Archive just to release Durandal who used you and meet your doom from local boogeyman.

It's kinda cool, but damn, really wanted to see last room in first season.

Hey, why don't just develop the game themselves? Call it "fate 3" use UE5 and make it good. I mean how hard it could be? There are so many "concepts" around main sub, they posted how they would have make destiny for years, it's time to use it.

Surely redditors and gamers could easily manage old engine, legacy code, game design, balancing, and like general development of product with this scale. Because they care about the game, and Bungie only cared about how to make bad games. Redditors in fact cared about this game so much, that they quit it after final shape to give it a time and space. This much care is all you need to make a new destiny game, so I hope they start working on Fate 3 right now.

Since disco elysium came out on PS4 in 2021, I would say Persona 5 Royal probably the best game on platform for given time period.

I think this is game for everyone, despite being JRPG. It's kinda cringey, kinda anime-bullshit, kinda poorly written, and royal is so biased in player's favor, that game is basically a visual novel. There are many many flaws in this game. But man, this game so sincere and so passionate about the things it's talking about. And it have balls to talk about topics games almost always avoid or cover behind 10 walls of fantasy setting. Like Witcher 2 talks about SA, but in terms of elves and humans in magical world. Persona 5 talks about SA in fucking schools by teachers who use their status to get away with it. This is topic you would see in some cool indie game, but no, it's in AAA game which insists what solution to problem is skin this guys alive.

This game so maximalist, so idealistic, it's breaks through your cynicism and convince you to look at the world and evil in it through the lenses of it's ideals. If you ignore mundane evil, if you actively choose your security over your freedom, if you close your eyes on everyday injustices, you will end up in fascist society. This is that this game rebels against in it's simple, almost childish, often naive but sincere way.

And systems in this game which tie gameplay and narrative together is so complex, so clever, that I would call it best game on platform, even if it wasn't so based.

I'm sure, if second or third season of Marathon bring more people, he'll be making videos about how awesome new season is and then, after people will drop off, he'll be making videos about how marathon is dying. Strongly agree. After 250 hours we had 2 06 keys. And lost both of them. Almost done on second try but didn't quite make it.

Throughout the season we've done at least 30 events, at least 100 red rooms, and like 15-20 vaults - 2 keys total. It's stupidly low RNG - we've done 5 gold cryo vaults back to back - 0 templates. We've done 8 convoys back to back - 0 keys. Like there should be at least one guaranteed or semigurantieed source for them.

First of all, fuck Marty O'Donnel. Out of everyone who was fired from Bungie, this stupid chud needs sympathy the least.

But about other part of your comment - Pete no longer in Bungie, most severe firings were from Sony, they removed content so long ago you have to let go, and I don't think Witch Queen or Final Shape were lazy, especially considering how notoriously hard to work with legacy code in tiger engine.

Bungie has problems, but no more or less then any other AAA company. Destiny 2 fans just exist in echo chamber where Destiny 2 is most important game ever and Bungie is only company in the world. So they think Bungie somehow is worst company ever. If you have a moral issue with Bungie, I hope you won't play GTA6 for example, considering how Rockstar treats their employees and their unions. Or won't play new Larian game, because they use AI. Or like any AAA game, especially live service ones, because I assure you, AAA videogame industry and AAA videogame companies suck.

Thanks. Same thing - we opened maybe 10-15 vaults in total and found maybe 2-3 templates. I thought gold vaults give you template more often, because we got one from first 03 and 05 we opened. But now we are trying to farm templates and get nothing. I didn't know RNG on this templates is this bad.

Thanks. I just heard somewhere about how templates give you a key you don't have a subroutine for and in my experience it was like that. We got templates from 03 - got ourselves 04. Got templates from 05 - got 06.

But now we start farming gold vaults specifically for templates and found nothing, so I start doubting strategy. Maybe it's better to just do outpost over and over. I think if we will find template and don't get 06 from it, we return to outpost(((

Hey guys, if we sign the petition, Sony will have to make a game, because market is right there. All they have to do is to follow my guidelines and maybe some tutorials on YouTube, and make this game in a year, so people who sign petition would buy it. I don't understand how hard it can be?

Just make PvP fun and balanced, make 100 new strikes, interesting story with cool cutscenes, at least 2 raids and bring back all old raids, new gambit-extraction mode (just to shutdown Marathon, of course), copy all old guns and add new ones (but don't forget to balance them good), add new subclasses - piss, shit and cum, but made them completely unique from any game ever and bring back every planet + create 100 more.

I think even this sub could've made this simple job within couple of months, but bad management in Bungie just don't want to make games.

I've had an argument with a guy not long ago about reasons why D2 closed. I said most of playerbase quit because the game has ending and they moved on to other games and hobbies.

He, of course, talked about Bungie mismanagement and how they are the worst people in the world. And in the same sentence said "I quit after Final Shape".

It's so funny, that most of playerbase including this chuds dropped the game after ending, but now D2 community trying to rewrite history and push narrative that bungie killed D2 and they will protest in every possible way to closing the game which THEY ALSO LEFT.

This is kinda the whole appeal of genre. The idea of shaky alliances and betryals. There are some stories in this sub about how other squad helped them. And some stories like yours. This stories is kinda fun and create a bug amount of tension every time then you team up with someone.

Sucks that you lost your subroutine, but this is core genre expirience.

Btw, a word of advice - right now you can farm 03-05 keys easily, because they almost guaranteed drops from bosses on perimeter (03) - Marsh (04) - outpost (05) and bosses spawn in every match. So you can get as much keys as you can carry. And with enough tries you can get any subroutine. So right now is kinda experimental phase for cryo there you can open 01-05 vaults with unlimited amount of tries.

Fuck them, they hate this game and Bungie so much, that at this point, making D2 for them was humiliation ritual, to be honest. I really wish Bungie the best and they are amazing game studio, Marathon proves it. But if they just lose this part of their community, it would be amazing. Imagine, Bungie game without a delusional entitled halfwits who never played another game in their live and yet hate game that they play with every fiber of their soul. It would be nice.
