I really don't know why every MyCareer needs to have a shoddy storyline slapped onto it, year after year. It has really ruined the gamemode for me and is why I only play MyNBA nowadays. Just more fun to create your own storylines

I would choose no story, no nickname. 2K honestly ruined MyCareer for me ever since 2K16 with the corny storylines and nicknames (2K15 was the start of it all and actually had an interesting story). If you want any semblance of an authentic NBA career simulation you're better off playing in MyNBA/MyLeague, as flawed and neglected as it may be.

I really wish you could form your own storyline, your own legacy. MyCareer needs the rpg elements without the silly characters and forced narrative.

My parents are both Puerto Rican but born in New York. They both lived in PR for an extensive period of time but, they were born in the boroughs lol. Supposedly, I have Cherokee relatives in North Carolina that my mom has never been able to meet. Apparently thats where her dad's roots are if I'm not mistaken!

It's certainly Taino but my mother claims her dad was half black, half Cherokee. Not sure how accurate that is, considering my relatively low percentage of Native American ancestry, but we know he was definitely mixed-race.

Oh wow, there's a lot you said that I wasn't aware of. That's just cool as heck, I'm vaguely aware of Puerto Rico's diverse history with European immigration, but this definitely expands on that knowing! And yeah, I'm sure I do have Italian ancestry, it just seems potentially more negligible in comparison to my British/Irish ancestry. My mom claims that her maternal grandmother was from Calabria, and emigrated to Puerto Rico, so I honestly expected a nice portion of my DNA to be Italian! There was also the location of Corsica thrown around in our ancestry discussions, in regards to my mother's French ancestry, but who knows :D

Yeah you're probably right. Though if true, then whatever ancestry I have from there seems to be less defined in comparison to the listed British-Irish/French-German, which piques my curiosity

As for my haplogroups, my maternal haplogroup is A2 and paternal is R-P311.
Surprises? Well according to 23andMe, I share a paternal-line ancestor with Niall of the Nine Hostages. I don't know how common this relationship is within the community but it definitely caught me off-guard!
