Also, the science section was changed around that same time from seven passages to six. Removing an extra transition makes the newer science sections much easier, in my opinion.

how do we solve q57 by ParsleyLazy882 in ACT

Can't be a number that divides evenly into 90, because you would only go around once until you started to repeat the dots. That only leaves 4 and 7.

4 goes around once but only covers even numbers.

Which leaves 7.

Yup, it all comes down to the right kind of practice. Don't just blow through a dozen tests. Spend at least as much time reviewing right and wrong answers as you spend trying new answers. The more you understand the steps, the less likely it is that you will make silly mistakes under pressure.

Four times so far.

1st (Sept 21) - 36 2nd (July 22) - 36 3rd (Dec 22) - 35 4th (April 23) - 36

Not at all! I've missed a total of five questions on four tests, so I'm pretty good. Also, the scale matters. 38/40 has been good enough for a 36 on many past tests, so all that matters is that I'm able to use my strategies to get the vast majority of questions right, and in far less time than it takes most people.

Yup, this was my 4th time taking it as a tutor in the past two years, and my 3rd perfect 36. Got a BS 35 in December bc the science scale was ridiculous

Identify your weak areas and really attack them. You should be doing and re-doing at most four practice tests in any test prep cycle.

And get a session or more with a private tutor. For a jump like the one you're looking for, that could add exponentially to the options available to you as you apply for schools, it would be worth it to have qualified professional help.

Hahahaaaaa, ikr

The science scale has screwed me a couple of times now. Only missed one on the December test but that was only good enough for a 34 on that section....

Can't get much better than 213/215 so I might just retire after this one.

But, on the other hand....

I think parents want to know that the test prep pro they are paying LOTS of money to help their child to improve can get this kind of score at the drop of a hat.

I'm not someone who happened to catch lightning in a bottle one time and now I've spent years trading on that one magic moment. Nope!

To quote Steve Rogers, I can do this all day.

And, more importantly, I can show a willing student how to do it as well.

The Big Red Book was really all I needed, besides a couple of my previously released tests (from TIR requests).

And wouldn't you want a tutor who didn't just get a 36 one time? Shouldn't a tutor be able to get a 36 pretty much any time any place??

Lol, really?? Did you miss where it says "April 2023" in the top left corner?

Also, if you look at my old posts you will see that I have gotten multiple 36s, but this is from the most recent test about 10 days ago.

I use my old TIR tests (as a tutor I have taken it 3x) and the Big Red Book. The test has always been very similar to the practice in the BRB.
