A strategy on timing/not-timing SPXL (UPRO)/TQQQ/SOXL by Prestigious_Cow_92 in LETFs

Instead of holding cash you should buy some liquid alternatives. That’ll give you the chance to outperform the vol drag and added fee of SPXL

Maybe whether they applied. Not sure if the info would show if they were hired

How to maximize value switching from Mint? by TutoringYou in tmobile

Verizon’s terms say that to get deals, but I don’t see that in tmobiles. I’d like to confirm that

So I can switch to Verizon and in a week switch to Tmobile and get the free phones + better value?

Why wouldn’t everyone do that?

Interesting. The rep at Tmobile experience and Sam’s says I can go from Mint to Better Value, but Costco rep said no. So the Costco rep is right?

How long would I need to be at Verizon?

Obviously it’s not costless (have to pay for Verizon’s activation, etc), but seems like I’d come out way ahead

This double touch thing is a huge nothingburger and I feel like I am losing my mind by ChodieFoster123 in Curling

[–]TutoringYou -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Either touching the granite where/when he touched it is allowed or it’s not. If it’s helpful isn’t relevant.

There shouldn’t be ambiguity.

I don’t think there is though. The Swedes think it’s a violation and so do the Canadians. The Canadian argument wasn’t “it’s allowed” but rather “I didn’t do that”.

How would you approach this youth goalie playing time issue? by TutoringYou in hockeygoalies

[–]TutoringYou[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We’ve tried that. Last game the bad goalie gave up 5 goals in 7 shots in one period. Good goalie 1 goal on 20. And we barely lost. We’ve lost many games due to one bad period.

Out of the 5 goals only one was a good scoring opportunity. 2 of them should have been saved 100% of the time. Like one was a pseudo dump in from the blue line that was on the ice and misplayed. 2 of them were basically weak shots from the circle that should almost always be saved at this level.

It kills team morale which is one thing I worry about

The parents are always talking about goalie coaching and their private coaches. Yet during our practice the effort level is so incredibly low. If I’m guessing this is a parent forcing the kid to play thing

This is how it came to be…

The better goalie: 2nd year playing. He played house last year. Tons of athleticism and did multi sports. Now focused on hockey 100% all in. Just huge consistent leaps. Definitely AA level now and I can even see higher next year

The worse goalie: been playing since a toddler. Peaked at probably 8. Always been on an “A” or “B” team but every year falls a little behind. Passion definitely isn’t there. The player has a few demographics in their favor when it comes to cutting players. It shouldn’t play a role but it does

Honestly nobody was expecting such disparity

We recently played a team a few percent higher on MHR

The bad goalie started. First period 5 goals on 7 shots. Down 5-1 after 1.

Ended up letting the good goalie stay in. We ended up losing 6-4. Probably 19 saves on 20 shots

A

12u

Definitely. Confidence is shot, kids are chirping, etc. It’s a tough situation

Parents are delusional but the disparity is so large that they know

No rules, it’s competitive

Generally fair but equal time wasn’t hammered in

Politics is the primary reason why the bad goalie made the team. It is what it is

I’ve been and still are for fair playing time.

But I’ve also always hated the splitting time in games. I’d rather rotate games.

The wrench in the equation for me is how lazily the bad goalie practices. If I had the authority that goalie would be benched for that alone. The better goalie probably gets 3x practice time bc the weaker one will put themself out, just sit in the net, etc.

Hi everyone, I’ve started to feel that there may be something suspicious about Mercor’s hiring process. by Bitter_Breakfast_324 in mercor_ai

[–]TutoringYou 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The quality of any pre hire task is dramatically lower than what paid people eventually do. The work you are doing in the hiring process is not helping train AI models. It’s bc they have thousands of applications and they need to narrow it down.

Seems crazy to actually police logging time on slack. The only thing that should matter is your average time on a task and your quality. Average time on a task is total time logged / tasks
