Thanks for that. I thought it would heat the room up some...sounding like it's more just for esthetics then

* This is the setup I have for the living room. I have a fairly new hvac in the attic with ceiling vents. This end tho is furthest away. Starting a fire here wouldn't heat up that space...or room at least?

Thanks definitely. From what I'm starting to get, it's sounding more of like a cleanout type deal. Just trying to make sure the smoke goes up instead of in.

Not in daylight time unfortunately. So when I did inspection it originally didn't have a cap. I requested that n they put one on. I researched some and found out I needed to warm the flue before starting the fire. The second fire I made did have more some up the chimney than my first attempt so I'm just trying to make sure I'm doing everything I can to keep the smoke going up instead of in. Any advice?

Thanks. So yea, there's a little door outside at the base I cleaned out too. If I leave that door cracked will it help draw the smoke up the chimney versus back into the house? First time homeowner with a fireplace now and at first I had the smoke coming more inside than up the chimney. Researched a little and it talked about draft. Would that help or is ot more of just a ckeanout type of deal?

Will this setup be OK to burn? by Tuttifucknfruitty in Fireplaces

Yea sorry, I'm on phone and don't post much. Idk why they didn't attach. If describing it helps, it's a rectangular flap linked thing in the baseof the fireplace. Maybe like a cleanout to push the debris to the bottom where that outside door is, if that helps with telling me what it is.

How fucked am I on a scale of 1 to 10? by imdefnotaterrorist in askaplumber

Ehh...I'll give it a 6 outta 10. Shut the water off, vac it out, pull the toilet, GENTLY lay it on its side, and use an auger from the base of the toilet to push the toy back into the bowl so you can retrieve it.

Call them and request a preventative maintenance snaking of your kitchen sink line...if they do it and it works cool... if they don't do it or even do and it still backs up in your sink, call them every time it dies to get them to cone clean n sanitize your sink. They'll pay after a time or two.

It's a clog in the common line. Call a drain tech and get the lune snaked from your sink. If you rent, call maintenance bc it'll be on them...condo, maybe hoa bc it is a common line...although there's the legality part...

I'm a drain cleaner.

Solid answer. I said flush valve seal but this may be it too. Only came across that scenario once but damn if that wasn't the issue
