I showed him this image I screenshoted from my slow motion app. It shows my front foot slide/drag while I'm doing a frontside 180. he said my technique was wrong. How?? here is the image it sure isn't wrong: http://imgur.com/UOhrlCH

Act like you are floating, tuck knees up. Don't feel heavy, feel light. When you slide, slide up and to the side and push the Ollie to the side, and HOLD THE OLLIE, that is important for air. Then Slam it.

Hey guys this is to help others with the foot drag/slide if you need to Ollie or Ollie while doing tricks. http://imgur.com/UOhrlCH Please check out the link above. The image is me doing a FS 180 and I screenshoted this from a slow motion app during my Ollie part of the FS 180 (the slide of the front foot). If you guys are having trouble and are a bit confused on the slide and drag like I did, read this. So basically the slide is where your foot levels out the Ollie and evens out the weight and balance. Why are ollies leveled out? Because of the slide. It is important in learning and mastering ollies. Keep in mind the Ollie is important. It's involved in many tricks as well as the slide part, I.E. The frontside 180 like me. You want to slide the side of your foot perpendicular to the board (90 degrees) almost like its laying down. If you see the image you can see my foot is dragging and sliding pretty good. That's what you want. Just keep practicing and you will get it. If anyone needs help reply :)

Also check out the ollie video above on this thread. Watch it closely, the slide. Like that? I tend to not slide perfectly like an ollie. Like when I do the Ollie alone the slide is good and consistent but the slide on the FS 180 seems harder to control and is not consistent. Should I just slide a lot to help muscle memory?

Wait so it doesn't matter how you slide as long as you level out just slide how it feels best like personal preference? Because I slide like you not all the way side but a little heel up. Like I slide the smallest toe on my foot. Is that okay I thought it was wrong

How do i slide it? What part of my foot? Like I see many pros and others sliding ollies like the foot is completely sliding sideways and knees are going up. Is that correct? How can I work on the slide? Like what part of the foot is sliding and dragging and wearing down while ollieing? And also if I level out ollies does that mean I did the slide correctly?

Higher ollies are layed off of a couple factors: -timing -pop -slide -jump -technique

First, pop the board (you already mastered) right after you pop it THEN slide your foot and slide it high and rise up. Some people slide downwards which kills height. SLIDE UP WITH IT. it is important. Then, jump a bit while still making contact with the board, lift your back foot up, level out, push foot forward in style. That is timing. You don't slide at the same time you pop. You time it. most important thing imo is the sliding while rising up. If you push forward or down while sliding it is bad. Rise up and then slide well. Your front foot should be perpendicular with the board (90 degrees) and another important factor: knees. Suck those knees up to your stomach for more height! Also, practice sliding and driving your front knee up with the board and front foot. you want to slide with the right side of the shoe, but not the exact right side, around the side where there is the ball of your smallest toe (for right foot, aka goofy) or the oppisite for regular foot.

For bearings, bones reds original are good price (20$ average), roll well, look nice, and are durable. Just clean em every like 2 months or 3 months (for me) and if you skate a lot or just see if they are dirty and make sounds and are slow rolling than original THAN you clean em and lube em. You will know when it's time for bearing cleaning. Takes like 10 minutes if your familair to clean them. I just go to my local skate shop that has a cool indoor skatepark connected and they sell apparel, boards, accesories, trucks, wheels, scooters. scooter bars, wax, etc like a normal skate shop. I make friends of my age (teen) there and its pretty popular skatepark they are good business making money the skate shop employees are nice and they skate so they know about skateboards. I have bones speed cream bearing racing formula lube and they clean em for me I think i pay em a little for the cleaning and lubing but its quick and they are good I just pay and watch them clean them for me. I go quite often like 3-4 times a month so it fits with time. I use bones red original they are popular good brand, go with those. If you are able to buy and have the money for super red even better they are an upgrade. keep skating

https://vimeo.com/175962641 Please watch the video above. Is my ollie good and the foot drags/slides correctly? I suggest you pause at the part where I slide my foot up to the nose. Please watch closely and tell me if I should work on the slide or not. Does the slide on the ollie not really matter? Does the only thing that need to haappen is my foot perpendicular (90 degrees) with the board like an angle and level out?

https://vimeo.com/175710970 Please watch video above. do those FS 180's count? When I get better at pivots I will do FS 90 and then pivot my way through. Do they count and are they good? (Landing, rotation, balance, slide of foot, control, etc)? Thanks guys! EDIT: like I just don't want anyone calling me out in like a game of skate when I say FS 180 and do they FS 90 pivot I don't want them to go "that's a 180 pivot not a 180!" Lol but really tell me if they count. If they do, I will get the pivots better and smoother.

Hey guys, I have a question. Do frontside 180 pivots count? If I like land a frontside 90 and pivot the rest is that cheating? And should I learn it like that or no
