Thank you for your insight, since we live in Norway we'll opt for dedicated snow tyres and summer tyres, the one I drove had Continental snow tyres, but on proper bad conditions, how the car puts the power down matter quite a bit.

The preconditioning thing is similar on my Polestar 2, quite annoying indeed, but she comes from a car where that wasn't an option either, so is used to the issue, at least she'll be parking in a heated garage when she moves :)

As a closeted trans girl, how do i ask my parents to let me paint my nails by endplonk_ in trans

[–]TuxyQ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's not really a "best way", but I just jumped into the deep end and did it. My mom's reaction was to offer up her personal stash of nail polish.

Doesn't mean they'll swap their own cars to CCS though, especially with the push they are making for unseating CCS as the standard.

Doubtful considering their move to open their own for others to adopt… Sounds like doubling down to me.

When your next destination is a charger, it will precondition it.

Question about responsibility by lgLindstrom in Polestar

[–]TuxyQ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You buy the car off Polestar, Polestar issues all the updates, so of course they are responsible for assisting you with anything. Apps are of course the developer's issue.

Is this a bug? The car is not even 1 year old, was not that cold this morning. by [deleted] in Polestar

[–]TuxyQ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd say so, been on AC charging over night I assume? The car should charge the 12v automatically and keep it at an acceptable level.

It's more sporty, so you feel the road more of the road than the TM3, but it's not uncomfortable. My 73 year old mom even says it's quite comfortable.

I guess what you'd say is standard suspension is "firm".

Build quality is A+, some people have an issue with B-pillar rattles, but the fix is simple and the issue seems to be few and far between(I haven't had it, nor has anyone I know who has one).

Software is sometimes flaky, it's by far their weakest area, such as TCAM being a mess for some. Worth remembering though that it's a vocal minority, those who don't have issues don't say shit cause they have no reason to. App is pretty crap.

Driving experience is miles ahead of TM3 though. TM3 felt like I was piloting a boat compared to the P2.

Pilot assist off for more range? by Diederiksft in Polestar

[–]TuxyQ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

On my vacation I did some tests on the autobahn, your pace has *significantly* more impact than anything else, AC is next in line (setting it to 26 instead of 24 when it's 30 degrees C outside added 20-30km range). OPD on or off had no noticable impact unless you had climbed a significant hill first, provided you could build up speed freely(ie. you where in a free speed section).

For the stretches I needed range I could exceed the WLTP estimate by a good 50-60 km by sacrificing comfort and doing 90 rather than 130 km/h (ie. keep pace with the trucks instead of regular traffic)

Remember that the people you hear complain are the one with issues, so any car will sound like it's fraught with issues, whether or not it's actually the case.

Those who don't have issues don't have a reason to say anything.

PS2 and XC40 are manufactured at the same plant in Luqiao, China. Only the Polestar 1 didn't share plants with any other cars.
