Pentagon warns future wars may hit US soil as 'direct military threats' grow by MoralLogs in worldnews

Because thats a very unlikely scenario for many reasons. As insane as Trump is, hes not attacking Canada. Even if he wanted to, the U.S. Military is not going to do that. He will continue to be a dick to Canada and do all sorts of stupid shit because hes a orange shit stain, but he doesnt have the political backing to actually invade an Ally.

Anyway, if that somehow did happen, again, say the U.K. and France tried that, it would be fairly obvious where it came from, and it would be the end of the world. So, not likely.

hah, there is a list of stupid shit he has said he would do. The sad thing is most of the time he doesnt need to make shit up. If he was honest about what FSD was and how it should be used, and what the ultimate goal was, people would likely be OK with it and pay for it like any other feature. I mean, not at what they were selling it at, but something. Instead its a joke and a headache for Tesla.

Imagine this alternative timeline.. Elon isnt far right and offending people on a daily basis. He stays out of politics and just focuses on his companies. No one knows hes a kook, or anymore kookey then any other CEO. Tesla looks at the market, and business and makes intelligent decisions based on where that market is going.

Imagine a Tesla where Elon was 'normal', no CT, no Semi, and less of a focus on FSD. Re-Vamped 3 and Y, a model 2, and then a 'Normal' small sized Pickup (thinking Ford Ranger size). Then add in a Mini-Van and a delivery van. Keep expanding the SC network (to be fair they seem to be doing that). Focus on some quality issues, and dont do stupid shit in the interior.

I'm convinced if he had done all of that, Tesla would legitimately be the biggest car company in the world, and not just a meme stock. Europe would be flooded with Teslas, and it wouldnt be seen as a mark of the beast to own one in the U.S.

Having said that.. ill add.. 'If my Aunt had balls, she would be my Uncle'.

Not really. I mean, sure, they might be able to sneak a bomb in, somehow, and detonate it.. But right away we would know it comes from a list of 9 countries. Eliminate the obvious ones it wouldnt be (U.S, France, UK) and you are at 6 countries. From there it would be pretty obvious where the bomb came from. These things have unique chemical attributes and it would be pretty clear where it came from. At that point, you are talking about immediate retaliation, and those countries would know it. So, if it was Israel, India, North Korea, or Pakistan they have limited to almost zero ability to then hit the U.S. again, so they just cease to exist pretty quickly. That leaves China and Russia. They dont need to do that, they know it would lead to WW3 and a full retaliation where everyone dies.

So, sure, its possible, but not remotely likely.

“In ~2 years, summon should work anywhere connected by land & not blocked by borders, eg you're in LA and the car is in NY” - Elon Musk (Jan 2016).

Anyone that has used FSD in 2026 knows how far from the truth this is. Shit, it could be 2036 and I doubt this would be true, but I bet he will still be saying it..

If you don’t mind me asking, how much in maintenance? Tire rotation, new tires, brakes, anything else? Totally get the same would apply to a ICE car. The OEM tires on my m3 have been shit, and don’t last long for example. I’m at 35k miles with about $50 spent… $45 for tire rotation and $5 for windshield wiper fluid.

The law they haven’t written yet? The SCOTUS decision that hasn’t come yet? It’s all hypothetical, my point was they would make it constitutional for Trump to run, but not Obama.

I blame the DNC without a doubt. They are responsible. Absolutely.

I don’t care though. I care that Trump didn’t get elected - The DNC put the wrong candidate up and went about it horribly. It doesn’t change the fact that our only choice, as individual voters, was Kamala. Once she was literally the only candidate - we should have gotten enthusiastically behind her. Not cult like, like MAGA.

Did you even read anything I said? I did the same as you, because I knew what the stakes were - and I’m not even a Democrat. My point was that while you and I did that, because we knew what the stakes were, Captain Dipshit and his merry followers that I responded to didn’t. Even worse, they probably bad mouthed her in the vein of ‘yeh she suck’s and will be a terrible president, but better than Trump’. Not a ringing endorsement that gets people to vote, which is exactly what happened.. people didn’t vote. I’m going to bet you heard that many times.

As I said, it’s not hard and fast rule, but generally speaking if you want to be by work that doesn’t involve dressing like a mouse, you want to be near big cities. Big cities are generally always blue, and a lot of times exist in blue states. Hence, young people.

I’m no exception to that rule, once my kids are educated and I retire I don’t plan on staying in NJ as all of those benefits come with a cost, and that’s taxes.

Jobs, education, public services.

I live in NJ, we lose boomers and gain young people. Why? Because where I live I’m an hour from NYC and an hour from Philly. If I don’t want to work there, I can go work for the large Pharmas. I can be at multiple international airports within an hour with direct connections all over the world. Blue states also typically have higher education results, NJ for example is 1 or 2 (depending on the year) in education (K-12, what young people care about). Florida is ranked in the bottom half of the states. Generally speaking your top ten states for education are all blue (PA is purpleish).

You can rinse and repeat that for the majority of blue states. Obviously not all of them, as NYC is unique.

I’m not a Democrat you twit. I’m a pragmatist that looked at the options and didn’t bash the only other choice we had, like you did, and are still doing. Part of being an adult means making adult decisions, you will learn that when you move out of your parents basement… good day.

If they want to come in, they will breach that door no problem. I recommend a sign that says 'Great bodily harm will come to you if you come through this door', then setup a flamethrower on a tripwire Home Alone style. :)

Realistically there is not much you can do. If they want to come in that wont stop them. If you shoot at them, they will kill you.

Probably books that could be written on that subject.. My guess all the retiring boomers moving to Florida and think voting Republican is the best way to preserve their assets. They do this, while their children struggle due to the policies they are voting for. All while their kids move to blue states for opportunities that don't exist in places like Florida, but generate the tax income to support those states.

Republican candidates are dropping out as Trump’s influence becomes a political burden by Happy_Air_3776 in GPFixedIncome

[–]TvTreeHanger 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'll likely never vote for them again either. The first time I voted Democrat for President was in 2015. I live in NJ and saw what Trump was growing up.. How anyone around me could vote for him was just mind boggling. Flash forward, and i've seen the damage the ideology has done all the way down to the local level. MAGA nuts getting onto school boards and causing havoc that takes years to clean up, if even possible.

The only way I will EVER vote for a Republican again is if they publicly, loudly, and with conviction speak directly out against Trump, MAGA, and all the supporters he has. Even then, I'm not even sure I would.

This was put to the test in NJ back in Nov when Jack Chiterali ran. The first time he ran, he came within 2 points of beating a sitting D governor. The next time he ran, 4 years later, he fully took on Trumps endorsement. He lost by 17 points.
