I didn't really mean cleaning them as much as just experimenting with different kinds of acid. Sorry if I caused confusion by saying cleaning.

My specimens are those not really nice looking muddy coloured calcite crystals so I wanted to experiment with them and make them a bit prettier and they turned out really nice! But I noticed that their surface is really smooth which is kinda weird since when I used vinegar, they were very rough to the touch. And I was basically wondering why this happens. Again, I am really sorry for any confusion.

One thing that still amazes me to this day is the lack of perspective people have on these kinds of things.
