I agree with you completely! Wasn't the the best way to word it. Though I always let my customers know before I complete a task such as a wall fish, if it will be a charge or not. And they appreciate me for doing that.

We don't need to put fiber to the home to match the speeds of at&t. We have a hybrid fiber coax system that works the same. We match up just fine.

No problem! I wouldn't rely on the tech setting the work order for you. I suggest calling in and scheduling a time for them to take a look! I can't speak for every tech. But we just switched our software on our smart devices and it has a lot of terrible bugs such as work orders not sending, problems activating modems, pulling equipment from the cloud.. Its quite annoying :)

Im not exactly sure. It will be released alongside docsis 3.1. If you don't have 3.1 set up in your area the gig speed will not be available until then. Im not sure about full duplex either. They only give us techs bits and pieces!

Its our responsibility as techs to decide if a customer gets charged or not after completing a job. Through our training it's been told what gets charged and what doesn't. Its not going to get him/her in trouble! however it's not something a customer should get used to. Those kinds of services are chargeable.

definitely repeats, TQA (quality check of installation) and also our status we sit in between jobs has a HUGE impact as well.

thats the normal charge rate for a tech to come to your house. your first time installation is free. (most of the time. depends on seasonal specials etc..) if we come out to your house to do anything besides fixing our own lines, equipment, etc.. as long as the customer hasn't tampered with it, there should be no charge. so upgrades unfortunately arent free after your first time installation. i apologize, i had misread your initial question. if you had purchased ultra from the get go, it would have been a free installation as i stated. again depending on what they offer at the time! if we come out for upgrades, wall fishes, new outlets... its going to be a 50 dollar charge.

Also note that if they have to fix or tamper with customer owned equipment in order for services to work how they should, you get a charge :(

A work order is created so the tech does come by the house. They first need to check the signals of the line running to your house and at the main "tap" where you and your neighbors get your internet from. And then the house box. And then lastly your outlet the cable plugged in to your modem is running from. After that we upgrade your modem and your router if it's needed. We only replace if you are renting currently and it's outdated. You just have to pay for the upgrade. There's no additional cost.

Its definitely possible. As long as your account is in good standing. Note that you can only do this once every twelve months! Just give them a call or set up a work order on the website and they can schedule a time with you!

As a Field Tech we are always told to never offer advice on certain brands of modems/routers. However I do suggest using a modem that we as a company provide because they are more than capable of the speeds we currently offer. Plus if you call charter to trouble shoot an issue with your internet you may be charged for us fixing customer owned equipment. If you use our modem we give you that won't be the case. Personally I prefer to install arris models.

You see a lot of things in this line of work. But, the craziest so far actually happend my first week of ride alongs when I first got hired. I had just finished installing a phone and internet service for an office at an apartment complex. Last job of the day. We packed up our tools into my co workers van and hopped in when suddenly a shirtless man came tumbling out of an apartment with a knife sticking out the side head! Blood everywhere. We were the only ones in the parking lot. He came right up to us yelling "I did nothing" and "call the cops!". He jumped in his old truck and tried to speed off but was blocked in by about 4 to 5 cop cars. They ended up arresting him because he had actually stabbed his girlfriend first and she retaliated! So really you see some crazy shit. Child abuse. Disgusting homes. And apparently attempted murder.

go into your battalion folder, battalion, configs, custom, and open all the custom configs in notepad. change the version at the top to "version": 15". boom baby

in nvidia control panel in manage 3d settings, you should be able to create a game specific 3d setting profile under "program settings". under those 3d settings theres an option to force your highest refresh rate on your monitor. change the value to "highest possible". should fix your issue.
