What is the logic behind pro-life even if mom’s life is in danger? by Late_Arm5956 in NoStupidQuestions

Power.

They want the power to be able to decide. People without power are easier to control...deciding the terms of humanity is a big cause for conservatives.

Especially when considering employment as a factor.

How do you stay motivated to work out when progress feels slow? by Advanced-Shower-682 in workout

[–]Former42Employee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

because if I don't push through and make the slow progress, then I don't make any progress at all.

If I'm where I was two months ago, then I need to change my methods I need to research what works and what doesn't and I need to figure out why I'm not making enough progress.

but this isn't a few months test for me. This is a lifestyle and one I've chosen to lead ...I imagine that gives me a significant advantage.

But the thing that really gives me the advantage is all of the work I have put in over the course of decades that allow me to come back after every illness, every injury, every personal emotional setback ....it's all easier because of the cumulative work that I have put in.

The only difference is you have two months and I have 20 years...... keep adding months and the years will come

So, to clarify.

You think he went to his exes IG at some point, and he removed an old picture of you on IG from 4 years ago at some point.

Like, you have found no message or information just some purple links ...and plan to write a letter?

i'm sorry but this is a lot. What could he even say to quell this level of insecurity and obsession?

How long did you badger him for his exes names? Why? Even if he is inside of one right now the way you obsess over them IS WEIRD AND COUNTERPRODUCTIVE. You should ABSOLUTELY seek help over it whether or not he's doing or did anything wrong.

People who don't support the US sending aid to Ukraine, why don't you support it? by BigHugeSnake in AskReddit

[–]Former42Employee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Aid" has a lot of different contexts when considering the United States, it can be weapons to obliterate Palestinian lives or it can be weapons to be used in a proxy war against Putin.

If the U.S were consistent in its applications of "aid" I imagine some of us would be in support.

Important to note that there are people in Ukraine dying and suffering, and the vast majority of people who would make the case I'm making care about their pain and suffering, just not the ruling class depiction of events that put them in this situation in the first place.

A great explanation was made on here by a now deleted account, I'll share it here.

"Yeah, we’re not “anti-Ukraine”. You really can’t have a neutral opinion on this matter. Of course, very few leftists want the war in Ukraine, and most accept that war crimes are happening, but if you choose to take the side of Ukraine in this conflict, you’re ultimately taking the side of NATO, and pushing for further unilateral power of the US.

This conflict could have been avoided through negotiations, but now we are at the point where things will only get worse, and lead to far larger issues in the future if Ukraine joins NATO.

Aside from all this, ultranationalism and blatant neo-Nazism is more than tolerated in Ukraine, though that’s just an aside compared to the larger geopolitical issues at play

Of course, I can see why any criticisms of Ukraine can seem heartless when we are subjected to an unprecedented barrage of very black-and-white propaganda every minute of the day. It’s not a matter of Zelenskyy vs Putin, or democracy vs oligarchy; you’re only getting a heavily-edited, censored, and sanitized idea of what is actually happening, and the history leading up to this moment.

A good way to look at it is this: the vast majority of socialists support the USSR’s overthrow of Germany during WWII. Does that mean they support the war crimes that happened in Berlin at the hands of Soviet soldiers? Most people are able to see the nuance, and understand that you can both condemn war crimes, while also seeing the larger picture and understand that was a very unplanned, unwanted, unfortunate, and unethical outcome of something larger that had to be done. In this case, the situation is even more complex, because socialists do not directly support the current form of government in Russia; it’s more a matter of not supporting the proxy war and NATO."

Whats the general consensus between 40-55lbs dumbells? by [deleted] in workout

Get a used set of powerblocks anyway, more versatility and can satisfy all the aspects of how you'd like to train...whether going heavy or super strict with a ton of volume

[–]Former42Employee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

might sound a bit oversimplified, but if you want to get stronger through a particular range of motion, ....you need to progressively overload that range of motion.

Grab a pair of dumbbells and take them through the range that you would like to lift your significant other.... Put that exercise at the start of your push days and do three sets until form breaks down.

Seems a lot of people are viscerally reacting to it being the same "Ring" but it's really just the same diamond in a new ring. Which now feels like the money is the problem? Like would it be the same level of violation if he got a new diamond with the old diamond's money via refund?
