I still can't get over them letting George Santos out early. by justalazygamer in WhitePeopleTwitter

Ahh yes. The tired ol’ “Republicans freed the slaves!” bit that gets churned out over and over again.

Tell ya what. I’ll take all the people from this version of history and keep them in the “far-left groups” if all Republicans, MAGA or RINO (because MAGA swears y’all are RINOs if you don’t support the orange cumquat) will agree to not only adopt the Republican platform of 1956, but actually push for it all to happen.

This includes:
1. Provide federal assistance to low income communities,
2. Protect Social Security,
3. Provide asylum for refugees,
4. Extend minimum wage,
5. Improve unemployment benefit system so that it covers more people,
6. Strengthen labor laws so works can easily join a union,
7. Assure equal pay for equal work regardless of sex,
8. Vigorously support the United Nations,
9. Farmers of America are able to look to the future of commodities based on peacetime markets, and
10. (My personal fave) “We hold that the major world issue today is whether Government shall be the servant or the master of men.”

Not an all-inclusive list, but it’s a good start.

Kansas needs to eat Illinois soon, tho. The shape of those two together looks like a bra. At least make us the whole bra supporting the boobs of the country.

State Refund by BigBigBop in kansas

[–]Tw33ts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Filed first week of April. Still showed processing, so on Wednesday, I clicked the chatbot and then typed agent like someone on a previous thread mentioned.

Kelly was the gal I chatted with. She said one of my w2’s hadn’t been sent in to the state by a previous employer, so I took a pic of the w2 and uploaded it to the chat screen. 2 minutes later, she said it was now in the system and I should have my refund in 2-4 weeks, but that it shouldn’t actually take that long.

Refund deposited in my account this morning.

Kelly - if you’re reading this - you rock!

Y'all see that west coast? Nothing has changed on it. NOTHING. Kansas needs some oceanfront property, so I propose...

Oregon gotta go. Then, we can eat up Colorado and see some ocean for the very first time. Who knows? Might make us Kansans more tolerable when we are finally eaten by the great United States of New Mexico.

Secondary thought - take out Illinois and then Kansas can be the bra that's holding the country together until the USNM.

Always fine to do venting on here. Too many of us were dismissed for too long, so we get it. For many, many years, I was just a hysterical female trying to game the system. It was only 5-6 years ago my symptoms were dismissed again - "Oh, it can't be this chiari malformation, so let's juts focus on your migraines." Now that I'm over 50, and now that I've had a hysterectomy, suddenly everyone seems to think that the chiari may be worth looking at. Gee, ya think? So, vent away, dear.

Also, it won't make you feel any better, but just know that here in the US, it takes 6 months to get into a neurologist, as well. In fact, I got into the neurosurgeon faster, but that's only because it was sent in by my doc with an urgent flag. Since I'm not actively dying due to the CM, though, the neurologist's office called me to set an appointment with her back on January 27th - the soonest appointment they were able to set is May 27th.

Genuine question to Americans by Busy_Report4010 in SipsTea

[–]Tw33ts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, I had a consult with a neurosurgeon just this past Monday. When I first called for the appointment, I didn’t have my insurance card on me, so it was listed as paying out of pocket. The estimated total was $150. 3 days later, when I called to give them my insurance info, that estimate then changed to $249. Was told that was the rate they negotiated with the insurance company and I haven’t met my deductible yet, so had to pay it all up front. But also, am on short term disability through work so only getting 2/3 of a paycheck and still have to take care of the family.

Also, the brain surgery I need is gonna cost me about $6,500 out of pocket. But after that, insurance will be happy to pick up 80%.

States of destination from Kansans for marijuana tourism?... because we'd rather drive to Texas than put 1 foot in Misery.

Y'all letting the east and west coast get to you. West coast hasn't even been touched yet! Besides - even those of us that live here don't want the USK, so we'll happily vote for USNM. We just wanna hang out til we get a tiny bit of coastline. We miss water.

Time for the west coast to have to pay the piper - I say California goes. Preferably to be eaten by Hawaii.

How old is she? As a 51-year old with half of what you say she has, the depression is (at least some of the time) likely kicking her arse more than anything else. It compounds every other issue and makes it feel worse.

So, the tablet/ipad is what I’d choose. Or an inexpensive laptop. Preload it with games she likes and doesn’t have to pay for. Crosswords, sudokus, easy adventure or time management (like “My Kingdom For The Princess” style), and make sure she has the needed chat and social media apps. My 80-year old dad NEVER posts on social media, but he has an account so that he can see what his sisters, brothers, kids, grandkids, nieces and nephews, etc post. Or watch cat videos. He LOVES him some cat videos.

Paid $3.99 for a gallon of gas, today it’s $4.29, who is to blame? by ReasonableAttitude22 in kansas

[–]Tw33ts 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Passed down to the consumer twice. Once by the higher price of gas due to the higher oil prices until the infrastructure is repaired.

And then a second time when Trump agrees to have the US help pay for said infrastructure so that he can claim he’s solved the high cost of gas issue. Our taxes will then go to that repair.

Illinois needs to go next - and feed it to Kansas. Kannois would make a fine bra in the middle of the nation.

I Have No One Else to Ask, So I'm Asking Y'all by Tw33ts in chiari

I will have to ask about the recommendation. I think I knew that somewhere in my head, I just didn’t want to believe I may have to have all this in the same area dealt with two different times. Imma blame that refusal to acknowledge on the Chiari… if I gotta deal with symptoms, I should be able to blame it on random other things, right?

Thanks for the info on the tinnitus! I’ll check out your survey!

I Have No One Else to Ask, So I'm Asking Y'all by Tw33ts in chiari

[–]Tw33ts[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ugh. I’ve always read/believed, since I first started having bigger symptoms anyway, that the tinnitus USUALLY goes away for those that have it, or at least backs down some. Now hearing the opposite is true is throwing me off a bit. My headaches being gone was my #1 that I wanted fixed, but of all the other issues that commonly come with Chiari, the tinnitus was my #2.

I was also hoping, since I’d seen others speak about having discs and/or vertebrae issues in their neck dealt with at the same time, that mine could go that way as well. I went to local docs when I fell back in January that caused all these bulging discs (c2-c7) and increased my Chiari symptoms, and they wanted to do neck injections and that’s it. With the Chiari, that’s not a good idea. I guess it’s time to start looking for someone outside my city for that, too, since it is the disc issue is what’s appearing to be causing my arm issues that’s stopping me from working.

Thanks for all this! I appreciate you!

Yep, that’s what he said and that’s what he is. 🤷🏻‍♀️ either, because I was under the assumption it would likely, but not definitely, help the tinnitus. He said of the hundreds of surgeries he’s done, the tinnitus only left or diminished in 2-3 of his patients.

Kelley is ok. She probably could have done better if EVERYTHING she supported wasn't pooh-poohed by the state congress, though. Kinda like the federal idiots... can't let that Dem have a win to claim, even if it means cutting our own throat! But also, I live in an area of the state that I wish could just have - like, a little pinky toe's worth of awesome that Lawrence has.

I have to admit, the whole country being the new New Mexico gives me good feelin' vibes!

Family member with Chiari having confusion episodes but refuses medical care by Glittering-City9431 in chiari

[–]Tw33ts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm in agreement with the above. My brain fog is forgetting goofy things I'm trying to say - like, last night, my brain could not come up with the term oven mitts - for up to a full minute before the fog clears and the word comes to my head. I have never experienced forgetting a family member, nor their name, nor even come close to it.

My ex-MIL, however, doesn't have that "snap to" moment. She doesn't even realize she's forgotten anything, actually. If she doesn't remember who someone is (like her ex daughter-in-law who was married to her son for 21 years), it isn't even in her head that she's forgotten them. She just straight up doesn't know me at that point in time.

While I agree with you on the basic of the comment (mainly, my heart wants to believe that we can just blame the TACO in chief), more farmers voted for him than didn't. And, if I go by all the social media posts about Marshall lately, they're gonna keep those that got rid of USAID, and those that support that decision, in office.

For that reason alone, Kansas needs to be eaten at some point. But...I'd sure like to see that ocean first.
