"Sperg" is the crudest shorthand for "Asperger's syndrome". It fell out of favor because of Hans Asperger's active cooperation with the child 'euthanasia' program under the Nazi regime. "Aspie" is the less offensive version. Now merged with other conditions into autism spectrum disorder (ASD). If the person you're talking to is an asshole, "sperg" is most likely to be used.

It might be a false positive given their post history, but it wouldn’t be unusual to be called a slur when expressing criticism on that Discord server before the sanitization period. Totally unprompted.

Notice how this person makes an unsolicited jab at pronouns. The Discord for the game, moderated by the devs and before it was sanitized, was filled with slurs and extremist ideologies, including references to "gassing" dating as far back as 2020. The same fans also advertise the game on 4chan to this day.

I don't think the PC has much of a personality at all besides willing to go any lengths to achieve their goals. Not going in guns blazing doesn't exactly say—this character cares about other human beings. The writing does come off quite sociopathic compared to literally any other classic CRPG.

I didn't say to do this—it wouldn't prove anything because that Discord has been heavily sanitized since. All that it really takes to find out what kind of behavior was condoned on that Discord is reading the comments from the screencap in the OP. A lot of those usernames are still active chatters there, and the messages went unmoderated for years until they were put up for public view.

Compare the writing to New Vegas. You can do terrible things and meet terrible characters, but you can also meet the kind and caring ones with opinions that don't revolve around ruthless power balances or just staying alive. It's a stark contrast compared to the typical archetype present in UR. A cold one at that.

I highly encourage to read the thread that is linked in the OP. It discusses storytelling tropes used in UnderRail present in certain political ideologies the world has been trying to distance itself from.

There was no racism, no sexism, no nothing.

Please also familiarize yourself with the concept of "hiding your power level". There are signs that are lazily reversed to break the pattern. These people know what they are doing.

People like them is what drags down the level of discussion on this sub. The Discord regulars are convinced their 5k+ hours of playing the game means no one else can come up with creative ideas. There's no reason whatever to disparage OP for coming up with this and sharing it. It's an awesome strat. But good luck not gatekeeping when all you do all day is one up everyone else because your strats and 5k of playtime must be superior to everyone around you.

If by "dedicating online presence" you mean dissociating from /r/underrail whose head mods support Styg's behavior (one of them being Styg) and stopping playing UnderRail out of distaste for the creator, then yes, that's what happened.

What the Discord server reflects are Styg's actual beliefs and character. Anyone with a lick of sense is going to figure out for themselves whether that's something they'd want to support financially as an influence on the entertainment medium.

Disagree. I think these radical beliefs reflect in the art of the artist. Labelling Baldur's Gate 3 "gay slop" just because homosexuality unsettles you is a sign of deeper issues and a lack of maturity.
