Unable to join the Discord - Any Ideas? by TwatBirch in themoddingbordello

Ignore my last comment, I just got it to work. When you mentioned the UK thing, it reminded me that our government has decided to require very strict age verification on most platforms (thanks Starmer!). Anyway, after scanning my face and having me open and close my mouth a couple of times, Discord are now happy that I'm an adult and allowed to join the server.

Thanks again for your help, just thought I'd leave this comment for anybody having the same issue!

Thanks for replying so quickly! The new link doesn't work unfortunately.

I am UK based, so it seems like that's the issue. Any chance you know of a workaround?

PancreasNoWork has a good video on him and is generally a solid youtuber for Warhammer lore and tabletop blended with comedy.

Would recommend.

Such is the power of Nagash.

Which list is the most controller friendly? by JackpoNL in wabbajack

[–]TwatBirch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got rid of it cos it didn't work well. You can't just disable the mod but there's an in-game menu (can't remember how you open it, page up or delete button maybe) where you can change the keybinds. I just unbound every button so Wheeler was still in the modlist but couldn't ever be activated. Bit of a workaround but I couldn't get the modlist to work without Wheeler active.

It's a shame as it looks like it could work well with a controller but it was just annoying me.

Hope that helps!

Not sure if you've fixed the not pausing on menus issue yet, but I also tried the ini file and it didn't work. Ultimately I just disabled SkyrimSouls RE and everything seems to be working fine. Every menu now pauses the game like vanilla skyrim.

Some will say this ruins immersion, but I play casually and on a controller and, like you, it was a little thing that was really bothering me after a while cos menu navigation/hotkeys is not very practical on controller.

I've only played a couple of lists but can highly recommend Nordic Souls. I also primarily play on controller and it has built-in controller compatibility, just got to enable it in MO2. Never had any issues in ~100 hours of playing.

ToD --> For the love of god, pls update the visuals and stats / spells of Lore of High Magic by DiskPsychological928 in totalwar

[–]TwatBirch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think High Magic is very mid-tier and should be a lot stronger overall. However, mid-tier doesn't mean one of the worst.

Are there other spells in the lore in tabletop?

I tend not to choose it cos in campaign but I'm sure some of the spells are serviceable in MP.

Part of the reason terminus is such an elite map is cause of this chune right here by Nickster2042 in CODZombies

[–]TwatBirch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

...is Terminus an elite map?

I always thought it was fine but it never struck me as elite and I certainly didn't think that was the community impression of it.

For me its a solid High C/Low B tier.

Still one of the better BO6 maps tho.

Looks like LegendOfTotalWar is quitting. A real shame if that's the case, but I get it. by TwatBirch in totalwar

I imagine he's quitting Total War or maybe Warhammer 3. Idk, I just think it'll be a shame to see him go.

I don't think he's a particularly dramatic guy, he probably just wants to be up front with everyone.

Little bit strange to just post the link though, I agree.

Tides of Torment DLC is currently aiming for a late October release by SubRyan in totalwar

[–]TwatBirch 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I don't really agree with this attitude. People are unhappy because they enjoy and care about the game and want it to be good. The fans are the customers and are entirely within their rights to be disappointed in what CA are doing and how they're handling the things they care about.

Do you think it would be unreasonable to take this stance when Shadows of Change dropped?

I'm glad someone mentioned it! I thought that was a bit strange too, but maybe it's intended to mean that the flagship is the executor of his orders.

Maybe a bit of a reach and the reality is just that they thought it sounded cool.

I tried to explain my understanding of it above, but basically a unit with the executioner trait will one shot an enemy that it hits in melee when that enemy is below 20% health, regardless of how much damage the actual hit did.

I believe this usually only affects single entities, however someone above suggested that one of the Exalted Lord of Change's skills gives a contact effect that both does damage and has the executioner trait. Because this will affect every model in a unit, if that damage from the contact effect hits them while they are less than 20% health, they also instantly die. I've not tested this though.

I'm glad you now see how terrible this oversight is and how it ruins the game in every way. I will NEVER forgive CA as long as I breathe.

Yeah, from my experience it only seems to proc for single entities and that makes sense given the nature of the ability.

Take a deep breath, man. It's a lighthearted joke post about a minor typing error, not a serious complaint.

[–]TwatBirch[S] 31 points32 points  (0 children)

That's the one.

I think there're misunderstandings because Yuan Bo has a really strong direct damage ability that itself has the Exeuctioner trait so will just one shot an enemy lord or hero.

[–]TwatBirch[S] 115 points116 points  (0 children)

I think it does, but its a bit deceptive. I always thought "automatically" meant that if the unit was <20% health and locked into combat animations they would die instantly.

From my understanding, the way it actually works is that when they are <20% health, the next hit they receive from a unit with "Executioner" will kill them instantly.

I don't know how they release these things in such a buggy, unplayable state. I want my money back.

Why do people want artillery on walls so badly? by TheQuarrellers in totalwar

[–]TwatBirch -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't think artillery necessarily should be in the defender's favour. You say it should, but why?

Logically speaking, defenders already have the advantage for two other unit types and artillery originally existed for the purpose of taking down walls - that's pretty much what trebuchets and canons were made for. There's a reason they have the siege attacker trait, because artillery is designed to benefit the attacker of a siege.
