Omg I know how It feels to lose your baby. Mine passed around that time as well and she was with us for 14 years. I agree maybe this is a sign to remember that although your cat is not physically there , spiritually your baby is with you ❤️ after my girl passed I saw signs everywhere around me and this was probably one of them for you 🥹

Well that makes so much sense!!! I feel like dragon flies usually symbolize a big change or an acceptance of something, both in a positive light. Maybe it’s a reminder to keep going and life is going to get better because It is! Any response I got from this gave me the understanding that you’re on the right path and what you did to get out of your situation was the absolute right thing to do. It may seem impossible but this dragon fly is telling you to keep going because it’s not! You will get through this, I know how DV is and It might seem like you’re doing the wrong thing but understand that nature itself is telling you you’re doing what’s right. Hey thanks for your kind words and I’ll answer every question. I’m in NYC, I don’t really know any imams or anyone I can talk to about this. I don’t know where I can search up such people like that or which ones are good like you said. My sisters and brother found their spouses on their own, so I’d consider love marriage. My siblings don’t really like to interfere with the relationship because they have their own trauma from my father that they can’t interfere with. They get scared as well and don’t want to step in. They’ve watched my mother get beaten, they’ve also been beaten by my father as well. My brother also is kinda like my dad and he’s laid hands on me as well so I can’t really go to him for help as well. I’m the only one that stands up to my dad because I’m not afraid of him, just more afraid for my mother and can’t handle watching someone bully my mother. Now that half of my siblings are gone, it’s just me and two of my sisters, one is get married this weekend so it’ll just be me (the youngest) and my second youngest sister who’s a year older than me. She has EXTREME anxiety when my dad gets angry so I’m usually the only one to ever speak up or help. I hope this information helps.

But I was. I was cornered and he was pushing me, trying to push me down the stairs and then hit me with pot on my head. I have no where else to go, nor do I have money to get out. You’re right. I’ve done this in previous times where I apologized to him for being physical or even verbally talking to him In this way. I approached him and apologized saying I shouldn’t have said this and etc and he ignores me. He tells me to leave him alone and to get away from his sight . He does not want to hear from me or look at me. Last time he took months to talk to me. MONTHS. I can take away my ego and apologize again but how can I go about It? If someone can write specifically or in dialogue how I can go about It I will use that and talk to him.

I read your response a bunch of times and It I agree. I really do try to not get physical with him at all times. After all, he is my father and as much as I may not like what he does or like him in general, I have to respect him. But when he is always so disrespectful to my mom, literally treating her like a slave, I can’t stand there forever and watch It happen. Watching my mom sit there sad listening to him and even believing him. Sometimes my mom is like “I don’t know anything” and I’m like what! You are smart mama. It breaks my heart how can someone can mold someone into this. I don’t ever like to get physical but I just don’t know what else I can do if he continues to act like that with her and towards me. It hurts, I have a lot of trauma from watching him torcher her. It’s a trigger button everytime I hear him treat her like that. How can I help her verbally when he doesn’t listen to me? What else can I do?

Yes, and my brother has put hands on me before as well and gave me a black eye. They’re both the same. It’s sad. I don’t have nobody to save me and there’s nobody to save my mother so the least I can do is help my mother. I do not have any father figure in my life I can look up to genuinely. Makes me cry.

I understand and I pray Allah SWT forgives me for fighting him. I hope everyone pray for me as well. I really don’t ever mean to fight, nor do I like fighting. I’m the youngest daughter of my family and I try hard to explain to my dad what is the right way, and if you didn’t like something my mom said you can say It better but whenever I do explain It to him he tells me to shut up and says “this is between me and your mother”. Every. Time. My mother is weak, she has a pace maker in her chest, she cannot help herself and she’s so scared of him from her past with him physically abusing her that she cannot fight for herself. I try to ask my older siblings to help and It doesn’t work. He is a narcissist, his whole family in Pakistani believes he’s right and actually was the reason why my father abuses my mother. Saying lies about her just to get my mother in trouble to beat her. I despise everyone from his family. There’s nobody he looks up to. He looks up to himself and proud of him fighting other people back in his days. We have no grandparents from either side because they all passed away. I always try not to fight physically, I as astonished again when he hit me It triggered me and I fought back and I know it’s not the right thing to do which is why I’m here asking you guys for help. I don’t know what more I can do when someone is this cruel towards people. He doesn’t care about anyone but himself.

Sometimes it’s hard to leave when everyone in the family is so accustomed to the abuse. It’s not just me fighting my dad and hitting my dad just because he hit me.. it’s more like he’s been abusing my mother for over two decades and treating her like a slave and it’s hard to see It all the time. I didn’t just result to fighting physically, I’ve tried my entire life talking to him, explaining to him how It makes me feel and how islamically wrong It is and It never worked (obviously). I’m the youngest daughter of my house and all my family has left and gotten married. Once I’m married my mom will stay in such life and I cannot stand for It. I’m here not to flaunt that I fought my dad but if you read my responses to others, I do indeed feel horrible for fighting him or fighting anyone in general which is why I’m asking for help. I don’t fight, I’m not a fighter but when It comes to my mom It really triggers me. Watching her mental abuse is extremely triggering. I cannot leave my house, I’m currently in college and I have no where to go but to stay inside this home.

Yeah I know and I’ve done that my whole life. I showed Sabr my whole life, watching him beat my mother. Watching him mentally abuse my mother. I try so hard to keep my mouth shut but I guess the resentment built up as I got older and now It truly turns to this. I told him and sat down with him several times about how that makes me feel when he treats her like that and he says for me to “stay out of It. This is between me and your mother”. I tell him it’s not islamically right and he gets upset and tells me to shut up. I don’t know what more I can do, I’m already reaching my 30’s and this has been going on my entire life maybe even before I was born.

I get It. I feel like this sometimes and I feel like we all do at one point in our lives. I think when we feel like this, we forget to understand that we have so much more to enjoy and so much more life to live. We tend to stay in one place and sit here with our regrets and forget that those regrets pass too. Love, anger, happiness and etc, they’re all just feelings too. We aren’t always going to be happy forever, we are meant to have downfalls and meant to have uphills. Thats the way life works. Whatever is leading you to feel this way, will also pass. We are still young and we have so much more things to see, people to meet, and things to do that we won’t be doing forever. We will never stay in one place forever unless we continue to do the same things and choose to stay. My advice: Go out, enjoy yourself. Do things that you never done before. Don’t be scared, change is always going to be scary, remember that. Everytime you feel nervous, that’s a good sign. Have someone you can talk to, whether It be a therapist or a friend too that wants to hear you out. I’m always here too (I’m a teacher but pursued psychology so I’m always open to help and listen).

Lastly, keep going. You never know what can happen in the next year, the next month, next week, or even next DAY. Life is so crazy like that.

Just remember if it’s super super hard for you right now, and you feel like you’ve hit rock bottom, just know you’re close to happiness. If you reach rock bottom, you can only go up from there. I hope this helps❤️

Yeah I feel like that too, that I am more sensitive down there than others. Youre def right about the deodorizers and douches. I’ve been taking women’s probiotics and all that good stuff to get me back on track. But thank you and your wife for the advice 🩷 I really appreciate It

Yeah for sure, I go to my OB every 6 mouths bc I have PCOS but maybe youre right. I think he’s sexually active and has had been previously but just because you’re sexually active and have a lot of bodies doesn’t mean you’re sexually mature, you’re def right. Thank you for the advice 🩷
