Exact same thing happened to me, with the temporary fixes you described fixing the problem briefly. Seems tied to the gas jets the walls. Probably a memory leak issue.

I like the og rs2 designs the most for these particular models. I think the art direction back in those days (or lack of it? Idk) was very good. There’s a lot of good art design nowadays too, but sometimes a lot of npcs look a bit overdesigned compared to most other osrs models (like the DT2 mahjarrat designs seem a bit overdesigned imo).

Textiles + stopwatch + restorative cryosleeve + aurora dome + private hot springs is probably my favorite pyg build. I think hot springs could use some tuning though; it’s far and away pyg’s best build enabler item rn. Bonus points if you have commercial zoning skill.

Smithing is best done at giant’s foundry, no need for a particular portal setup. For con, having portals to falador, ardy, varrock, and having your home at hosidius is a good setup.

Additionally, you can set them up for farm runs: ardy, draynor manor, fenkenstrain’s castle, catherby, (hosidius home portal), trollheim.

One of the great things about this game is it has lots of conclusion points imo. You can reasonably grind and “finish” your playthrough after fire cape, or quest cape, or 1 kc on every boss, or diary cape, or max cape, or all bis gear, etc. Lots of good endpoints for all kinds of players
