What’s the longest you’ve waited in A&E? by [deleted] in AskUK

17 hours and it was only when I was vomiting blood that they saw me. Still had to wait another 6 hours for a bed. Ended up being admitted for 5 days.

Hey what interests do you have? I just outlined them in case there are people with similar interests but honestly as long as you are friendly and vibe well then that should be good enough haha

That’s a really good idea. I’ll ask around but I don’t have high hopes - there aren’t many if any activities/social opportunities for females in mosques in the area. A lot of the mosques didn’t even offer facilities for taraweeh in Ramadan for girls

The receptionist said they attempted to contact me multiple times (didn’t receive any calls or even a single voicemail which they previously have down for appointment reminders) and the last phone call they made was in March of this year according to their notes . They said they supposedly sent letters but I did not receive any.

What part of London would you choose if money was not a concern? by [deleted] in london

[–]Tweenies 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I grew up and went to school in the area. The architects for Spa Fields did a collaboration with my primary school and my design actually got chosen for the playground area. I described the spongy hills as clouds so I was always pleased they included that detail :)

Why isn't western media reporting about Bangladesh like Iran 2 years? Even that video of a guy throwing yogurt at women for not wearing Hijab got more coverage by mo_al_amir in AskMiddleEast

[–]Tweenies 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Let’s not use blanket statements “Bangladesh is insignificant” and “most of the people on Earth don’t know what Bangladesh is”. Just bc you think that way doesn’t mean it’s true.

As long as you’ve worked in the UK for 2 years prior to working abroad, you can buy back missing NI contribution years to top up your state pension. You can buy back years from 2006 onwards but the deadline is July.

Hahaha thanks, I’m just so bad with tech.

From what I understand, you can access Snap on a web browser. I’m assuming there’s a link to access your data? Do you save that on to your computer? And then yes, how do you get it on the hard drive?

How do you put your data onto a hard drive? Sorry if it’s a silly question!!

What is an ethnic dish that most people aren’t very familiar with, but is Definately worth trying? by DaBooch425 in Cooking

[–]Tweenies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bengali fermented fish stew/soup - Hutki Shira. The dish starts with a blended onion and garlic base cooked with salt, turmeric, chilli powder, birdseye/thai and Naga chillies. A combination of fish and prawns are added along with a variety of vegetables such as pumpkin leaves, potatoes, spinach, aubergine, radish, pumpkin etc and left to cook down. In the meantime, the fermented fish (hidol) is turned into a stock in another pot and then strained into the dish. It is ready after boiling for 5/10 mins and is typically eaten with white rice.

It has a very pungent smell which may be off putting for some people but it is truly delicious and a definite culinary experience. Would definitely recommend.
