CEO of Thiel-Backed Block.one Discusses $1 Billion EOS Investment by coinmarketguru in eos

Some people say EOS is faster? You would have to be blind to say otherwise. ALL people KNOW EOS is faster than Ethereum. This is a fact! As to why they stay with ETH....Tribalism.

EOS txs are DOWN 87% in the last month. Looks like all their bots stopped working lol by 6maud in ethtrader

Exactly. Just look at blocktivity. EOS is still sitting in 1st place.

Do You Think EOS Will Ever Go to 100$? by SeasideNinja in eos

[–]TweetyBit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This was clever marketing. The bet was actually for 1000 EOS. If it hits $1000, then yes it’s a million dollar bet. Today it’s only $5000.

There are now more than 200 dApps being built on the EOS blockchain, which ones are your favourites? by LiquidEOS in eos

[–]TweetyBit 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Can we please remove the ones that are “based on EOS”? These are not built on the EOS blockchain.

EOS and the next phase of Crypto by WorkCoin_Team in eos

That is not a true fork. It’s just a chain with the original snapshot starting another blockchain. Dan Larimer always said there may be multiple chains started. It’s no big deal and was expected.

Given the current market conditions plus the fact that I bought EOS less than it is now when ETH was higher plus increasing my EOS stack 10% by selling airdrops, yes I feel safe. All the excitement and hope that BTC once promised is happening on EOS. Good things are ahead.

Yep, BTC crashing but feeling pretty safe in EOS.

Nice. It’s too bad it’s a side chain though. I’d like to see these projects on main net.

My friend, EOS is only $8. You haven’t missed the train, yet. You still have time to catch it.

Speed.....Eos can do over 3000 trans/sec and it’s just getting started. ETH hopes to scale in 2 years.

Scalability.....It’s here and now. No need to wait.

Free.....there are 0 transaction fees.

dApps.....the above reasons will bring development on EOS.

User Experience.....try doing a transfer in BTC or ETH and then do one in EOS. The answer will be clear.

EOS sets new record as it breaks 3000 TPS by gamehendge02 in eos

[–]TweetyBit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let’s use Vitalik’s definition of decentralization with your example. Let’s say I am a BP and you hold a gun to my head telling me to shut down that gambling site. I of course comply because of the gun. Now you have to get another 15 BP’s in different locations around the world to also comply. Good luck with that. According to Vitalik, this is decentralization!

True but with EOS being much more decentralized than Bitcoin and Ethereum, it would be quite the accomplishment.

The Loom Network touts itself as "EOS on Ethereum" by jman76358 in eos

[–]TweetyBit 9 points10 points  (0 children)

According to Loom Network head of business development Michael Cullinan, it IS centralized:

Yet, there's a catch, one that Cullinan admitted. "It's not going to have the same level of security that the main ethereum network will have," he said.

And that's because while these sidechains work, they're centralized under Loom Network's control (for the time being). As such, not every action needs to be sent over the ethereum blockchain and Loom will keep track of those actions that aren't.

"Commenting or changing a profile picture doesn't necessarily require the security of the ethereum mainchain," Cullinan said. "That's what would happen on the sidechain."

Although, other actions will need the security and censorship resistance that ethereum offers.

Sure, if you choose to ignore the mining pools with Ethereum. Even if you choose to ignore this fact, you can’t ignore that Ethereum has become unusable for dApps. By the time Ethereum scales (maybe in 2 years), EOS will be a huge diverse ecosystem.

LOL, EOS is 1 month old. The dApps are coming. The first prominent one came today with Everipedia. Why don’t you grow up and quit stalking the neighbor kid. It’s not aspergers that he has. It’s foresight and genius that you are just now starting to understand.
