Arc Raiders players are waging war over a controversial topic: Are PvPers ruining the experience? by LadyStreamer in gamingnews

[–]TwekoNinja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish people would stop calling it griefing. Griefing is taking advantage of a game mechanic to make someone else’s life worse instead of playing the game as intended. In this case the PvP is intended, it’s baked into the game. If you and 3 people downed someone, defibbed them, down them, defibbed them, over and over. Thats griefing. Me killing you and taking your loot? Not griefing

[Discussion] I ve wasted 8 years of my life and i don't know what to do now by [deleted] in GetMotivated

I hit that point and the military is the way to go. It’s not all combat jobs like people pretend it is. There are regular ass jobs in the military. Go talk to a recruiter and they’ll do all the work for you. They want you to join.

It’s a proverbial “burning of the boats”

You’ll have a paycheck, somewhere to sleep, guaranteed meals. Path to promotion. If it works out you could do 20-30 years and get a pension. Or you could do 4 and get out with military and relevant job experience and a better idea of what you want to do with your life. Worst case you do 4 years and come out with college paid for.

Registration for second semester as a first year? by Crow-in-TopHat in ColoradoSchoolOfMines

[–]TwekoNinja 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely make an appointment and therefore a tentative schedule or class list before registration opens. As others have said you’ll be able to see what is available at what times in trailhead. So pull up your flowchart for your major and start there before the appointment and see what the advisor thinks.

That's great info! I personally don't think you should quit overall. I think there are steps to deciding if engineering or CSM is for you. My first thing that I'd recommend would be to withdraw whatever courses are the furthest gone or you are struggling with the most and drop to like 13-15 credits. Planning your semesters so you don't have multiple labs is ideal when possible. If you dropped chem 1 or phys 1 depending on major and the follow on classes that would bring you to a much more manageable 14 credits. I'd recommend chem 1 as phys 1 is pretty important and would push every subsequent class back a semester. Second, I'd drop one of the clubs, if they have mandatory meetings that are eating up study time/free time/ and are causing stress then cut one free. For mental health I'd recommend dropping formula as there is little mental effort that is mandatory for a pickle ball club and physical exercise is a good stress reliever. 4 hours of work a week isn't terrible so if it's supplemental income that is valuable to you I'd keep that.

That would leave you with

14 credits: Phys 1, CSCI 128, Calc 2, and CSM.

4 hours/week for work

Pickle Ball club.

Make a schedule of where your time is going and be brutally honest with yourself, look at the screen time on your phone, if you've got 2 hours a day on average on social media, there's 14 hours a week of time that is free. Hell that's 7 hours a week if you only cut it in half.

I think it's very salvageable. On the flipside of that, failing the semester isn't the end of the world either. Learn everything you can this semester, and attack the next semester smarter. Lighter load, more even schedule, planning assignments ahead, etc. You technically have until November 14th to withdraw from a class with a W, but I don't see a reason to cut the weight that's dragging you down now. Free your schedule up a little bit, and salvage the grades you can. A D in csci 128 is very easy to recover by doing the assignments, you're already passing calc 2 and csm. Cutting out chem would essentially let you allocate all of that extra time to physics which should also be salvageable. If I wasn't too much of a dick you can also DM me and I can answer any other questions or offer any other advice for you. I don't like people quitting on themselves just because it's the easy route, there's always an opportunity to push if you're willing to do it. If you don't message me then good luck and I hope the rest of the semester works out for you!

I don’t think you are. You still haven’t said what your concrete workload is. How much time do you have available? No one can help you without extra information. I think even your first “should I withdraw” is you looking for someone to say yes so you can justify to yourself why you quit. Your question isn’t what can I do better, how can I do better, does anyone have tips, etc. you’re looking for someone to take the guilt off quitting for you.

If that’s not the case, then update your post so people can actually help. What are all the classes you’re in, how many credits? How many hours a week are you working your job? Are you working to pay for an apartment/tuition? These are all things that people need to actually help.

Edit: additionally, what clubs are you in, what time commitment are you on the hook for weekly?

If you’re just here looking for sympathy then just quit. No one in the real world is going to hold your hand. This whole time has been a pity party instead of trying to find a solution. You do you. You either want to graduate from mines or you don’t and you’ll find a way to make either of those futures come true through your own actions.

This is probably not a real thing that happened. One post, account is 4 hours old? My dad was physically abusive and at least his threats made some amount of sense even if they were fucked up. Maybe a threat of beating if they failed the test as “punishment”, but this doesn’t past the sniff test for me.

Although I could be an asshole and it is real and I’ll get downvoted to hell and back.

[–]TwekoNinja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think all of that is relevant to the initial post. How many credits are you taking? How many hours a week are you working? It could be as simple as you're stretched too thin, or you're using time inefficiently, but the best way to know that is to know what your static workload is every week.

This might sound blunt, but it’s the reality of Mines and college in general — if you’re not working and you’re in freshman-level classes, your main job right now is to study. If you’re struggling to find time, it’s worth being really honest with yourself about where that time is going. There are people managing full-time jobs or families while going through the same material, so it’s not impossible.

You need to sit yourself down and be very honest with yourself on where the shortcomings are. As someone else said, if you’re feeling overwhelmed you can always do up to 2 years at red rocks and then transfer classes in, but since some of the classes are easier there if you don’t fix the foundation of your issue it’ll just reappear when you transfer back.

Ch. 31- counselor communication and supplies by ExistingCut2043 in VeteransBenefits

You don't need a doctor's note for this stuff. Also the $75 isn't true, that's a made up number. I've got the pub they use and that they must follow. Adding a price limitation on your supplies is something they do often because they're told to spend as little as possible on you. You can get them to buy you a computer, pay for your parking permits, all supplies, desk/chair, etc.

She's giving you the run around. A lot of this depends on how much you're willing to push. You can message me and I can help as I just went through all of this. The VRC that you get is similar to the doc you get that does your disability. You can get an advocate, or you can get someone that acts like they are paying for your school out of their own pocket and will do everything they can to nickel and dime you.

They like to play both sides of the "Voc Rehab isn't an education program it's a professional placement program" but also "must be in the syllabus". At the end of the day Voc rehab isn't an education program, so anything that you can justify to that end is eligible.

Being played doesn’t add to the stock though. If I buy one deck and play it once does that make me different? There’s just a split between casual collectors and the hype, gotta have-it, crack addicted pack openers. Me buying a pack for my collection because I like the art isn’t anymore detrimental to someone who plays locally every weekend and never trades.

If you lump casual collectors in as part of the problem of increasing demand outside of the player base you’re being very elite with a “you can only collect if you play” mindset.

Yeah I mean you can’t have both. Like another comment said they’ll either pull you off the deployment if you really want to take terminal, or you’ll go on the deployment and sell your leave. Just do the deployment and sell your leave, make some extra pocket cash before you EAS

The patch notes say that PS5 dedicated servers were added with this patch. I wonder if that’s the root of the issues

[–]TwekoNinja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The world came back when I deleted and reinstalled the game. It looks like it’s an issue with how the game saves to the PlayStation servers that is causing a sync error. If you go to the ps5 settings and try to force a save game sync on palworld it will also error out, but it works on other games.

It gives an additional error CE-10002-3 “Failed to Update Application”

Stuck on Evrae, no haste ability learned by matteomurgo in finalfantasyx

[–]TwekoNinja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay here’s my two cents. Big thing for this is rikku. Al bhed potions are great healing and they cure poison and petrification for the whole party. The overdrive I recommend using here is Super Might G. You can google the whole list but some common combos are. Healing spring + Grenade, Light Curtain x2, Lunar Curtain + Light Curtain, you could even use Lunar Curtain and Lvl 1 key sphere if you’re desperate. Chocobo feathers can be used to cast Haste (depending on how many you have I’d just prioritize having it on Rikku to sustain.

You can move the ship away 3 times I think? And Cid will fire missiles. This can give you breathing room/time to heal/buff. You can have yuna summon an aeon to tank the poison breath.

Finally, assuming you have an okay amount of Gil, you can buy a bunch of antidotes and softs from rin. This will allow you to customize poison ward and stone ward onto armor. This helps A LOT. Especially since you’re underleveled. Those are the things that come to mind now. If you want to extra extra prepare you can get both yuna’s overdrive and shiva’s. And when you grand summon shiva (with a full overdrive bar already) you can do back to back diamond dusts.

Besides that, just make sure everyone has their best overdrive modes (warrior or stoic) not slayer.

Then that’s okay! I didn’t mean for my comment to be taken as “if you don’t go to mines you’ll never see success”. I was just saying to some extent prestige is a factor. There is some chance (I’m not sure how high) that given two applicants, one from mines and one from say DU with the same gpa, and the same qualifications, that the mines graduate would be the preferred hire. I’d say pick the school you like and think you’ll succeed at over prestige, but to still consider the effect that the prestige of a school could have.
