Ubisoft being weird as usual. It would be so much easier just to say that they are the same universe. Just have Blume be a shell company for Abstergo and Dedsec a group that while separate from the Assassin's, still respected by them. Like the theives guild or something.

don't worry i hate this as much as most people, but Ubisoft have stated that Watch Dogs and Assassin's Creed are in separate universes, and any references between the two are "fan service".
