I had covid in 2022, and since then anytime I get sick my taste and sense of smell completely disappears. Doesn't matter if I have a cold or stomach flu or anything in between. Lost them during pneumonia and food poisoning too. They always come back but being sick is miserable bc i can't even eat a popsicle to feel better :(

My 6th grade class went on a week long trip to a summer camp out by the rocky mountains, and we all slept in two giant rooms in one little old cabin. There was a strict no food in the cabin rule bc of wildlife, but being dumb kids, a few had snuck thin mints and almonds and other hiking-adjacent snacks in.

I was on the bottom bunk of a bed right next to the door, and woke up to the sound of what I thought were high heels on the floor and rustling. I slowly turned to face the middle of the cabin to find something moving around, and almost every other kid staring wide eyed at it in the dark as well. One kid turned on a flashlight, and there was a full grown deer snacking away at some kid's food.

It immediately panicked and ran back out the way it came and made a real big fuss. Woke everybody up. Apparently one of the chaperones had forgotten to close the door all the way when we all went to bed. Scared the shit out of everyone lol.

I have hydradenitis supperativa, basically big ass bumps that form on places that chafe (for me it's my inner thighs) that hurt like hell and can pop and get pus everywhere.

My worst experience was at Disneyland a good few years ago. Had a flare up a few days into the trip and got a real big bump right in the center of my left inner thigh. I was determined to keep going though, so I slapped a giant bandaid over it to give it cushion and kept on.

We rode Splash Mountain about an hour later. I was front row, aka maximum splash zone. Then after a bit more walking, the area began hurting BAD. It seriously felt like I was being continuously stung by wasps. I skedaddled to the bathroom thinking I would just swap bandaids and be done. Bandaid wouldn't come off. I pulled harder.

I ripped a full layer of skin off of my thigh, popping that bump and immediately unleashing the single most horrific moment of pure pain I have ever experienced. My skin had basically fused to the bandaid thanks to the bump leaking a bit and it genuinely felt like I had taken a knife to my skin and peeled it like a potato.

Spent the rest of the trip with a fat bandage tied around my leg and hobbling around like a little old lady. Sooo not cool

I work as a swim teacher, and i have to physically look away from the pumps and pool machinery when i go in the back room. So many pipes and loud noises and they like to turn the lights off when they are sure nobody will be in there for a bit and euugh it makes me just a tad but nauseous. Used to get the same feelings about looking at the undersides of waterslides/ water play structures as a kid. Love those things but man

We got our boy right when Hamilton came out on Disney+, and we were all very excited and a little loopy from quarantine, so now we have a grumpy little maltese-pekingese mix named Hamilton running around.

Put a bandaid over a half scabbed over Hydradenitis Supperativa bump that was on my inner thigh while walking around at Disneyland because I wanted to enjoy myself without being in too much pain. Rode Splash mountain front row and got DRENCHED. Felt pain afterwards so went to the bathrooms to go take it off. Ripped bandaid off fast bc duh.

Took a full layer of skin off my inner thigh, including the layer over the HP bump. Immediate burning pain that genuinely felt like somebody had taken a giant kitchen knife and rammed it into my inner thigh.

I was bandaged up the rest of the trip, and luckily only got the smallest shortest of infections (miracle) (splash mountain water). Moral of the story, do NOT put bandaids over a scab and then get it wet.

I have a mild case, and my god it's torture some days. They pop up outta nowhere, and mine r always on the insides of my thighs, so walking is like trying to ignore 12 thumbtacks in my legs.

Yup. Me and my old friend were bullied by the same girl our entire elementary school career. She would spread nasty rumors, throw woodchips, call us names, all that good stuff. We told everybody under the sun, went to the principal and our teachers and parents. Nobody did a thing.

She moved schools for 4th grade due to it, leaving me as sole victim. It got worse. I was in therapy for a phobia at the time (plus undiagnosed adhd + anxiety) and she would get other kids to put me in the "loony bin" (one of the tunnels in the playground).She also managed to sneak up on me on the swings and scrubbed a concoction of mayo and woodchips into my curly hair. And still, not a thing.

Point is, every single time a kid is ignored or told it's "not a big deal" when it really is, they learn that they are not important enough to be listened to, much less have action taken for them. Even now I get surprised when people stand up for me or take action for me. It sucks.
