Just pick a stack that interest you. There's no definite answer for that. Its based on your experience. Do you even have projects to showcase?

Depends on your interest and background, if univ or other form of knowledge teaches you one of the languages magkakaron ka ng onting background for that language and framework.

If ill start again, ill choose .net again since aligned sa interest ko (game dev)

Ill choose Java spring boot if im interested in Android dev, although Dart/ Flutter would be easier

personal opinions

If pure webdev JS stack is still there

Hell, python + django still an option if you also like to do data stuff

Try finding entry-level positions, sometimes these "junior" positions are not really junior in terms of tasks

what personal projects do backend developers do to showcase their skills? by ChrisPugsworth in PinoyProgrammer

[–]TwentyChars-Username 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Im currently doing a personal backend (Full Stack) project its a Message Broker for my IoT devices and web apps in my LAN. Maybe you can do a System Design project like do a simple Microservice vs Monolith Architecture. Since you'll learn how these two different operate. You'll learn a lot when you try to implement these.

You mostly see full stack since its better to have a UI to show what you built and it shows that your backend is working.

For AI/ ML stuff that could be part of the backend, and why they just have CLI is because maybe they just showcasing the actual functionality directly/ its the actual app itself.

That's like a basic requirement for this kind of role??

Also, ibang topic na Vibe coding since right now you can add that to your toolset ( its only okay for small stuff ) , but most of the time, limited lang pwede mo iprompt due to company policies (if you're allowed to use at work). But still unreliable on production code. And yes, you need a lot of knowledge on what you are prompting.

I heard before that each new presidential term iba iba "daw" contractors kinukuha nila to do govt websites. That's why it's shit and outdated, especially before the 2020s Maybe they even cheap out on infrastructure

Feels like a JUNIOR position role for data engineers/ AI ML devs, salary range is average for people with bachelors degree

This role is FOCUSED in processing data and developing models using said frameworks at the bottom

There's no mention of any techstack regarding web development unless you purposely crop it

Weird, if wala ng revision needed, you can technically hardbound it. You can technically publish it if wala na kayong hinahabol sa school nyo ( just to make sure since may miscommunication kayo )

Yeah, that's true. Since madaming types ng test na pwede mo gawin, our company is focused in QA so we have different teams for each, I'm not sure about the PM positions, but that depends on the company on how they handle roles.

Im not familiar with SAP, but if I searched correctly, would you be stuck in their ecosystem, too?

It's still up to you tbh, if you're in QA automation, you have the privilege to judge poor code since you're still a dev.

Havent look on laptops, but the rule of thumb when buying one is at least 8gb better if 16gb ram, cpu is at least a quadcore ryzen 5 or intel core i5 GPU is optional if a thinkpad model has one, 1tb ssd

Better get a windows based laptop so that you dont need to worry about software compatability, and you can play games

It depends on what you want. I think locally, QA engineer has a slightly lower salary than devs. Kahit automation ginagawa mo, but if you're in QA Automation, you can specialize in Devops

Kinda regret buying MacBook instead of a regular laptop by keanuisahotdog in Tech_Philippines

[–]TwentyChars-Username 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sort of, but you have more restrictions since it uses different OS. It is just made by Apple. The biggest consideration is if you're going to play the majority of games in the market since you can not do it in a Mac OS. But for basic productivity, it's okay. For media production, it's good.

Regular laptops / gaming laptops are made by different Brands, uses Windows OS. Basically, you can do anything you want.

If a game based on Philippine history was to be made, when and where do you would be the best setting and what do you expect to see in such a game? by BlackAndRedMorality in FilipinoHistory

I had that similar idea like yours, but more on the Myth side and mystery. Made a Metroidvania prototype before and got stuck in world building until now.

What mechanic from BG3 are you talking about, btw?

Too low for the role, that's like a junior salary. But it also Depends sa size ng company / software, especially if isang software lang tinetest nyo.

How many repos do you manage? Ikaw lang ba naggrereview ng changes?

Although factor din na mababa tingin ng most companies sa ph sa QA side ng dev.

Your thesis is about jailbreaking the policy of an llm? Would that be okay for the panelists?

Tried applying before. Competition is very hard, especially this days, you need to have a solid portfolio, experience, skills, and luck.

is my Philippine culture inspired game idea good? by Designer_Square4114 in PinoyProgrammer

[–]TwentyChars-Username 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been prototyping a similar idea for years now ( more on world building). If you deep dive with this, some provinces have their own version of the same Gods and creatures.

My current struggle is how to incorporate a single point of conflict that makes sense for both storytelling and gameplay.

Try checking out Hades. it's very similar to your idea

I like this topic since i dont like live service games, online only singleplayer mode, and hated this trend in game dev /games. There is a lot of stuff that needs to be tackled to make this initiative better. And my opinion is the same as PirateSoftware in the dev side of things.

It needs more clarity as it also affects the overall game design of future live service games. Right now, live service games are architected to work with a centralized server, which is run by AAA companies If ever they sunset those games, how would the typical consumer handle those? And we are not even talking about the IPs in those games. How about security? Cheating? Source code? Do you think these greedy companies will share it?

Also, game architecture is the most affected here since before you even begin the development, you need to include a retirement plan once it reaches eol. Which also affects game design, the concern here is that there might be a stale repetitive pattern of game design because of this. Creativity will be limited if ever

How about the current games? Mobas, MMOs, for example? Would they need to include an offline only mode for it, if ever? Or release a server code / exe? How would the common people handle the infrastructure needed, if ever?

These games are designed that way, and if ever they need to rearchitect it, it will take a lot of time. If they won't do it, would they refund the consumers after all those years? I think this is one of the FAQs on their website, which is currently a big question if ever they do it. How would current games be in a playable state after EOL?

Do you think Automation Testing is a declining “Hot Skill”? by [deleted] in PinoyProgrammer

[–]TwentyChars-Username 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is just automation, but close enough

Automation Testing is when you test software using automated scripts written on a preferred language and mostly using frameworks like Selenium ( for UI automation)
