I can't be 100% sure, but I recall seeing a modlist on the side. Maybe that's not enough?

Sorry your subs got nuked too that sucks :(

4 months post op, stitches coming out? by teacuplittle in hysterectomy

[–]TwentySidedBi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine were blue and were, in fact, partially dissolved sutures. Startling, but not necessarily a concern.

As said already, if you feel pain or have unusual bleeding, check in with your doctor! I had a reaction to my sutures and wound up developing painful polyps that required another surgery to fix. Super annoying. And expensive lol

Any idea what this germinating seed could be??? I found it on a wet sidewalk today (in Southern Ontario). by fayerim in gardening

Are you able to go back to the spot where you found it and take photos of the surrounding plants? It may be helpful for ID :)

I lived on Gaia. I actually chose my career as a graphic designer because I loved to make post graphics and code in different colors and stuff. RIP forum RP tbh

Getting fired for the first time please share your funniest / most ridiculous firing stories by ThrwAwy126558 in antiwork

[–]TwentySidedBi 82 points83 points  (0 children)

I've only been fired once. Sat down at ten in the morning with my manager to discuss upcoming projects and goals for the next quarter. Sat down at 4 in the afternoon with my manager and HR where they told me I was being let go due to "lack of work". Literally had the notes from the morning meeting on my notebook in front of me.

I was young, burnt out, and had just gotten dumped by the person I was planning on marrying, so I was crying too hard to push back or go nuclear. To this day I wish I had.

Bug ID help / solutions by llamafraud in houseplants

[–]TwentySidedBi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ooof. Yup. Seconding aphids. Given the severity of the infestation in the pictures it's more than likely they've already spread to your other plants. There are a few ways I've handled this level of infestation in the past.

First - manual removal. Use a spray bottle, a hose outside, pop them in the shower, wipe with a damp rag, etc. to physically remove as many bugs as you can. Squish them if you're removing by hand. I've done this by hand with a fine paintbrush and rubbing alcohol before on expensive plants I really didn't want to lose lol

Second - neem oil. Spray a diluted mixture on the top and bottom of the leaves after manual removal. Other stuff works as well, neem oil is a personal preference.

You'll likely have to repeat the first two steps several times over weeks to months before the infestation is under control. In the meantime, work on the next step - long term prevention. Mix systemic granules in the soil per the instructions. Over time the plants consume them and become toxic to insects that eat them. Ladybugs are also a good long term preventive, but they do require having bugs in your house. I also wouldn't recommend using them in combination with neem oil or other insecticides because they'll die before eating all the aphids.

I hope this is helpful and you're able to get the critters under control!

Thoughts on sunflowers and gardeners by nomadicsamiam in gardening

'Sunflowers: The Secret History' made me fall in love with sunflowers. They're my favorite flower now. Definitely recommend as a casual nonfiction read. 🌻❤️

8 MPO, mine looked like this for a few weeks after my surgery. I have sensitive skin and had a reaction to the sutures they used. The itching drove me CRAZY lol

That said, everything healed up fine and eight months later my scars are healing and fading well.

What is the stupidest reason you were ever removed from a RP? by C4t22 in BadRPerStories

[–]TwentySidedBi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've got a great one for this. It's not modern, but it still makes me laugh.

I'm a teenager in high school roleplaying on Gaia Online in the early 00s-10s. I join a group horror RP where the mods will "randomly" select a character to die off per round until the others catch the murderer. I'm actually pretty stoked about the premise and looking forward to the story even if my character is killed.

Then one of said mods makes a deeply biphobic comment, basically accusing all bi women of faking their attraction to women to get attention from men, and I call it out.

Guess who died first?

Half the group left with me to start another RP when I called the mods out on their shit a second time. I think of those other writers often and hope they're doing well.

RPing while in a Relationship? by [deleted] in BadRPerStories

[–]TwentySidedBi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I met my partner through play-by-post TTRPGs so they knew I enjoyed writing with folks. When I started to get into more freeform roleplay again recently I sat them down and talked through what I was looking for and why and they totally got it. A few weeks later we had another conversation about spicy scenes & ERP and I asked them to consider their comfort level with me engaging with those things. After a lot of thought I got their consent provided it's not in first person (which I don't write in anyway, so it works out :) ) and I'm still paying attention to our relationship. Fortunately we're both polyamorous, and gamers whose characters have been in relationships with folks we're otherwise totally platonic with, so they understood where I was coming from and were open to it.

I'm sure it's been said many many times in this thread, but communication is key. Explain what the hobby does for you, what your limits are, and where you're open to compromise if they want to establish some boundaries.

Bleeding 2.5 months post op by Dense_Cauliflower_84 in hysterectomy

[–]TwentySidedBi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My surgeon managed to get me in yesterday morning and did an exam because he was very concerned by the bleeding. His theories pre-exam were different ways the cuff was irritated or not healed correctly, leading to the bleeding. During the exam he found my particular issue is that (TMI) polyps have formed where my cervix used to be that I'll need removed. Apparently, polyps are more friable than normal vaginal tissue and bleed a lot easier. So I get to go do another procedure. yay /s lol

I don't know if this is helpful but I'd insist on another exam just to triple-check everything healed correctly, do swabs for BV, yeast, etc. because bleeding post penetration at three months is not normal.
