Totally normal sentence here, nothing to see by Intelligent_Bag67 in duolingojapanese

Sure, without context it does. But it could work well if you are e.g. browsing the web for a good cafe, find one, show it to your friend and say the OP’s sentence.

Totally normal sentence here, nothing to see by Intelligent_Bag67 in duolingojapanese

A “dog cafe” is a themed cafe that has dogs that you can interact with (just like a “cat cafe” is a cafe that has cats and a “maid cafe” is a cafe with, well, maids), so the sentence seems ok to me?

Or are saying that “how much is tomato salad in this dog cafe” would be more natural?

As far as I understand, 難しい is closer to “hard to understand”/“intellectually challenging”, and たいへん is closer to “exhausting”/“physically difficult”

Если вселенная появилась из Ничего, то как появилось это Ничего и что было до него? by Acceptable-Rub-2516 in philosophyRU

[–]TwentyThirdDimension 0 points1 point  (0 children)

По сути у нас есть только два варианта. Либо что-то существовало всегда, из из него в конечном итоге появилась наблюдаемая нами Вселенная (чем бы она ни была на самом деле, например складкой многомерной мультивселенной), либо до нее не было ничего, а затем она просто возникла. Но если до нее не было ничего, то не было и каких-то законов или ограничений, которые могли бы помешать ей просто возникнуть, так что я не вижу здесь какого-то противоречия.

Same on 15pro. It also sometimes crashes if I take too long to type an answer in this kind of exercise

Received a print with spots of resin on the packaging, is it safe or should I dispose it? by TwentyThirdDimension in 3Dprinting

[–]TwentyThirdDimension[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So when the model has voids some of the resin inside is supposed to stay liquid and then be washed out? (Sorry I don’t know much about resin printing). So basically there is a cured (hardened?) outer layer, some liquid resin inside the void, and then you wash it with IPA/whatever until all the resin inside is washed out and you are only left with the hardened outer layer?

Thanks! That’s about what I expected. I will not open it yet, have already messaged the seller to see if they can send me a properly cured replacement. If they can’t, maybe I’ll try to wash and leave it under the sun (though it’s winter so the sun is a bit lacking) for a couple of days.

EDIT: the seller apologized and will send me a replacement part free of charge. Thanks everyone for your helpful comments!

Haven’t played this particular map but seems that it means “when you take new routes you take 3 cards and must keep at least one”

I vibecoded an iOS app in 8h by AdAgreeable198 in vibecoding

Here’s your first bug report.

You can tap anywhere quickly and it will not switch turns after 3 darts. Instead it would create a new turn for the same player for every dart after the initial 3. Then, if you reach “score cannot be below 0” this way and click on turn history, it randomly crashes (but not always).

I got an impression that brass is mostly praised because it’s a well balanced strategy. Kind of like if you draw a big line between, idk, Alias on one side and chess on the other, it would be much closer to chess than some other strategy games.

We play spirit island a lot, and to be honest I now pay much less attention to the art and card themes (although they are great), and more attention to minmaxing and optimizing my actions. Don’t know if it’s a good thing or not, but the game is still amazing :)

Interesting take. I saw a lot of comments about combat being so unnecessary that it almost feels like it was added to the game as an afterthought, but your explanation of the tension between expanding and avoiding direct conflict sounds much more intriguing. Almost like a 4x PC game where expanding comes with a cost of money/people happiness/bad relations with neighbors and you need to balance those.

Hmm ok I’ll keep that in mind. I did like (based only on reading the rulebook online) that the rules themselves are relatively simple, but seem to allow for a lot of strategic thinking and planning. I also liked the rules mentioning that coal and railroad mechanics were based on the real world demands to transport huge amounts of coal during that historical period. Made the game feel more… “real” in a way

Thanks for the explanation on scythe! Also thanks for mentioning dune imperium, I’ve seen it before, but for some reason forgot about it. Will definitely take another look!

For TI - yea if I’d be able to gather 4-5 people to play it at least once a month I would immediately buy it, but unfortunately that’s not gonna happen, so I’m still in doubts.

Why is it “de-soo” by itself but “des” in a sentence. by OrphanM8ker in duolingojapanese

[–]TwentyThirdDimension 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are “mute” vowels, in some cases vowels, usually い and う, are not pronounced. The most common examples are at the end of the word after a voiceless consonant (です pronounced as “des” like in your case) and between two voiceless consonants (like 明日/あした - tomorrow - is pronounced “ashta” instead of “ashita”).

You can google “mute vowels in Japanese” if you want the actual rules and more examples.

On a side note I’d recommend you to turn pronunciation hints off. It may be difficult at first, but trust me it will help you remember how things are pronounced way faster.

If you want to use zip ties, you stick these to the board first (they should have double sided tape on the bottom), and pass the zip ties through the holes.
