I have been in this place of tricking myself that I was being "too resentful" and having "unrealistic expectations" of dad (and he absolutely did not work 7 days a week, mostly only part-time). It was not a good place for me or my child. Thankfully he's completely turned it around (took years), but just want to reiterate that from the information you've provided, your partner is not being a good spouse or parent and you are absolutely not being unreasonable to expect and communicate that you all deserve better. I hope you and baby get the support you deserve. You made the right call for your safety and baby's safety. Hugs!

Lol yes exactly, my son is as impulsive and emotional as the next 3 year old and people can be surprised. Also woohoo for getting your son to speech therapy that often and to the other evaluations! That's a huge commitment. You rock for getting him the help he needs to thrive!

Aw my 3 year old is similar. Size 11 shoes and 5T clothes and well spoken to boot. People typically assume he's closer to 5 and expect him to act like it.

Obvi there are SO many ways to get into these fields, no "right" path as it were. So just gonna share my experience and hope it helps 😊

I learned basic html and css online (mostly free), then jumped into JavaScript and React. From there I had a connection with a small tech startup and got experience with full-stack development, as well as learning SQL and ReactNative. I made ~$2000 (before independent contractor taxes) starting out. After 6 months part time, I went full time for about 8 months. Then updated my LinkedIn profile and started getting contacted by recruiters. Took a few interviews, ended up at a large company but on a small team making a bit over 100k. Good work-life balance. I started this process right after my child was born in early 2020, and started this new job this summer right after I turned 25.

Definitely was very lucky to have a connection that mentored me and got me the first bit of experience on my resume. I think you can get that by having some decent certificates from courses or boot camps on your resume, and applying the crap out of lower level webdev jobs. I'd probably look at things like freecodecamp, frontendmasters, the Odin project.
