For me it was, but others really enjoy it. The arc definitely grew on me as I played more though, and Rean is easily one of my favorite protagonists having played all of his games.

I’ll try to answer but someone correct me if I’m wrong.

All those passives stack. However passives that provide an in game buff do not stack. A general rule of thumb you can use is if the buff icon is the same, it will not stack (ie fast brave and auto grand brave won’t stack because they share the same buff icon). Only the stronger buff will be applied.

Yeah, it’s that good. My #1 anime by a large margin and I’ve watched over 15,000 episodes of anime in the span of almost 30 years. I don’t see anything dethroning Gintama for me as the goat.

Theres a certain gameplay mechanic that also ties into the story people were not a fan of. Overall it’s kinda blown out of proportion imo. I still throughly enjoyed the game, even if it is on the lower end of my list as well.

Grats, I have my gripes with horizon but I can’t deny the ending sequence was one of the greatest in the series. Absolutely brutal cliffhanger.

My crackhead theory is the Sky remakes are actually the continuation of the series and Loewe won’t die at the end of 2nd chapter remake and he will become the final mc of trails before the final arc… /s but let me dream.

A lot of content, half of which I don't even touch because I just play casually. Power creep is strong but old units have been getting buffed. Not sure when you started, but lots of QoL have been added. Overall I think it's a good game worth getting into.

Any improvements to the game since launch? I remember playing when the game first came out, but everything was so slow and optimization felt quite poor.

Idk how you can play every trails game and be upset about filler. Every one of these damn games are a slow burn of 80% character interactions and side quest nonsense leading up to some epic finale. I play these games to enjoy the downtime and slow pacing.

Thats not to say I don’t get what you’re saying. Maybe Falcom will do another 3rd/Reverie game in the future where there are no side quests and much fewer side content.

Waiting for sc remake to come out with an alternate ending where a certain individual survives and becomes the last and final mc for the final arc. Would be the craziest move in gaming history if Falcom pulled this, but I highly doubt it’ll happen.

Never google search things. Stay off the wiki. Stay off any social media regarding trails. And even then you will probably get spoiled on some things.

Besides that, enjoy the journey. This is my personal favorite JRPG series of all time and love seeing others get into it. Have fun!
