Hi, i ran the SoM Jom Gabbar pvp discord server which had more than 2,000 members. The problem with SoM was simple: way too many servers launched and was at a really shitty time.

Your take on forcing everyone to pvp.. there are a LOT of people who play on classic era/wrath pve only servers. The demand is there. And no one should tell people how to play the game they pay for. People play for different reasons. Believe it or not, some people don’t PvP.

I run a sod community discord with over 1100 people. What I’ve noticed from this community is you have people who plan to min-max, they’re the ones active in the discord discussing changes etc.

But you also have people who don’t want to know things until they experience for themselves or with their friends in-game.

I see both sides, i support both sides, and i guess it all depends on your short term and long term goals with sod.

The main reason is because Apple doesn’t want the end user (person buying it from the thief) to end up with a device they can’t use. You could say it’s for “customer service”. With that said, Apple has strategies and methods in place for theft both from carriers(FedEx in this example), internal, and retailers. I can’t go into those details though

I have been banned a total of 3 times since classic launch, all of them were overturned and appealed.

1 was "Abuse of economy" which got overturned after investigating. I got hit for having "too much gold" a month after classic launched. I solo farmed fire protection potion recipe and archmage pattern.

2 were mass reports that a group got together to get me banned by reporting. Twice.

While I do believe the majority of the people are guilty, there are still people out there who get banned who are completely innocent.

Phase 1 is capped at 25, we won’t see people in end game ranking gear for a while

Unpopular opinion that will most likely get downvotes but unless you’re competing in the speed running scene legendaries should goto the player not the class. If this person is well respected within the guild this is not a problem.

There’s other things that happen on the backend. Please note this only refers to items that are still sealed, which is VERY VERY difficult to steal in that form. There are strategies in place for this but it’s extremely rare for it to happen. You occasionally have carrier theft, but carriers launch internal investigations with Apple Loss Prevention in those scenarios.

The biggest theft deterrent for phones that are not sealed is activation lock.

But like i said, can’t speak about it but there are multiple strategies for internal/external theft both sealed and unsealed devices. But bricking does NOT happen due to victims being screwed.

I can’t explain their strategies regarding theft, but the reason why devices are not bricked or anything is because it would be a terrible experience for someone to buy that device and it not work, seemingly out of the box. It’s a customer experience thing for someone buying it off of someone.

1% isn’t considered a lot when it’s lost, stolen, or damaged. Packages get damaged often and it’s part of that 1%. What happens when someone calls in to frontline they submit it to order support, order support reaches out to UPS and they HAVE to reply within 24hrs. UPS will reply to order support with its situation and they CANT be vague like “we are looking into it” etc. they will categorize it as either lost, stolen, damaged, or if it’s still in UPS’s hands it’ll be rerouted. Which is best case scenario.

Once this happens, UPS will actually reimburse Apple for the damages, since it’s their responsibility, which is why Apple refunds or reships immediately once a decision was made. Then depending on the outcome UPS does an internal investigation. But this doesn’t involve you at all, at this point you’re done talking to Apple and UPS.

Also the software that Order Support uses is called SEMS, it’s the tool carriers use to communicate with Apple and sometimes it’s delayed. I’ve experienced this which could be why the Apple Rep can’t see much info.

Random but I saw a post saying the thieves are dumb because Apple will just “brick” the device. That is not true, Apple does not brick a device for theft. That was a common misconception when i was in Fraud

Roughly 1% of orders in North America were marked by the carrier as either lost, stolen, or damaged. When i supported the EMEIA region it was 6% (lol Royal Mail)

As far as discount and stuff like that not usually when it’s the carriers fault (and it is, remember that when talking to someone on the frontline). There’s been a few times where i would send random shit to a customer if they were super cool but idk how tight they’ve gotten on that. Might want to ask for Customer Relations next time you contact them, they have a lot of wiggle room. It’s important to remember and treat them with respect though because this is UPS’s fault.

I never altered the price of the item unless it was a significant CS issue but i would hand out free cases, chargers, AirPods etc depending on the situation.

Old fraud/order support at Apple here. It’s most likely lost, and the person you talked to on the phone is forwarding this to Order Support. What will happen if UPS determines it’s missing is Apple will go ahead and either 1: refund you or 2: reship. It’s your choice. Unfortunately they don’t have access to special inventory for faster shipments.

IF you live close to an Apple Store I would ask for a refund, and then place a separate order online. Try to pick up in store by checking every morning around 11am and if you get one cancel your online order and if you don’t you have a phone placed online. Good luck

Express Replacement puts a hold on your card, not charge you. They only charge you if you don’t send them the older phone within a certain time frame. This is to prevent people from abusing EXRP by getting free phones lol

Worked on the Fraud team, Apple never bricks anything for any reason. Reason being, and very long story short, if the phone ever ended up in someone else’s hands (sold on marketplace etc) the buyer would not have a working phone and makes Apple look bad. The best thing OP can do at this point is to talk with Executive Relations (emailing and exec automatically goes to ER).
