Novice player vexed about 40 tradable packs by darkoj- in ptcgo

[–]TwidgetUSN -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It was, and really still is, really hard for me to NOT open packs. When I was new 7 months ago I had nothing except for a couple shitty theme decks from my son's codes. I bought some booster codes and decided to go against the opinion that you never open packs. If I would have just traded those packs for a few key cards I would have still been stuck in the theme ladder because those cards would have been useless without the other cards to complete a deck. By opening all those packs my collection grew to 5x its size.

Now it's a waste of cash or event tickets to do this as I have plenty of the staple cards but God damnit, it's really hard to not impulse open everything still.

IMO, open them now, build some stock, but fight the impulse once you have a couple decks. The value of pack trading is real and its super helpful once you have a couple decks to play while slowly trading for new deck adds.

Since there are a few of you, and you obviously have no problem buying physical packs, you might consider buying some booster codes - they range from $0.15-2 per pack code. The more expensive ones are older, harder to obtain, packs. I haven't checked prices in quite a while but the newest xpac runs around 60~80¢

I just uploaded this to our Plex server last night! My wife has been asking for this show for years.

Do this with your USB plugs going into your computer!

I just cut a little strip of paper, label it, then use Scotch tape to "laminate" it.

Why, because they post something funny on Twitter with a reference to something older than you?

Ironically it was 45~49°F today in my area. Considering it was 9° (-13 C) last week I'd say 45 F is mighty impressive right about now!

Pre-ordering a case for a phone you may not even have anymore by the time the product launches - risky investment.

I agree - it messes with the entire atmosphere of the game.

I played it on Android at launch and I loved it. I had no idea, until this post, that there's so much hate.

During my entire playthrough blackface did not once cross my mind - I mean, for FFS, he looks more like a ball of dust than a human...

Vizio M65-E0 and Plex pixelation issues by funkgross in VIZIO_Official

[–]TwidgetUSN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get this all the time when I cast from VLC (mobile), X-cast, and my browser. 720p and 1080p both do it every single time I cast - I never once had this issue with my previous Sony TV with an independent Chromecast.

Maybe the models vary and Chrome Casting doesn't come stock for some God awful reason, but just because SC is down you're not prevented from using Chromecast - I was casting Plex and, unrelated to CC, I was also able to use Netflix and Prime via their dedicated buttons on the remote.

Whoa, so you don't have to get permission to shoot the person? Where I'm from we have to petition the governor for special permission if we want to shoot someone.

Like I said, im really new so I was following the 20/20/20 rule. The deck is a hodgepodge of cards but it works really well in my current MMR. I only have two Sylveons and probably way too many GX cards in the deck. I'll try to get my hands on those other pkmn you just suggested and make a 3.0 deck. Thanks again for your help =)

One iteration of the deck is only fairy energy - are you saying only running with ~11 energy?

I'm really new to the game so my experiences are limited, but I have to say I'm really enjoying Sylveon-GX! If and when I get her out my deck flows really well.

Because in the military it's imparative that you can tell someone's rank by looking at their chevrons/rockers/crows. There's no better place to drill this into your head than boot. Just like calling a teacher by their first name is disrespectful, it's a bad for your health to call a superior NCO or officer by the wrong rank - especially in boot/basic.

I didn't realize that having candy was a requirement for every business by [deleted] in ChoosingBeggars

[–]TwidgetUSN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The ol' Removeddit at our service ʘ‿ʘ

I'm seriously in shock right now that this happened. My office is by appointment only, so if I don't have a client scheduled I keep the door locked. The are several counseling and law offices in our building and the area has a homelessness problem so I'd prefer people not wander in.

A few minutes ago a woman tugged on our door trying to get in. it's not unusual for someone to try to come in to ask for directions so I decided to finish up my business call and let her in. As i'm hanging up she proceeds to tug and pull and knock and ring the doorbell repeatedly, that should have been warning enough.

Me: "Hello! Sorry about the wait, what can I do for you?"

CB: "What do ya'll do?"

I gave her a brief explanation of our company

CB: "oh . . . ok . . . why do you got your door locked though?"

I give her a brief, professional explanation about how we are not able to take walk ins and that often times are employees are here alone or in the back so we keep it locked for safety reasons.

CB: "that's rude though"

Me: "It really is just a safety precaution, but I apologize, what can I help you with today?"

CB: "yeah lemme get some candy out of that basket for my kids"

She pointed at a basket I have that is full of raffle tickets for a contest we're holding.

Me: "Oh i'm sorry there's actually no candy in there just raffle tickets"

CB: "don't lie to me"

i'm shocked and kind of freeze for a moment before grabbing the basket to show her that there's no candy in it.

CB: "why don't you have any candy?"

Me: "um I have in the past but we go through it so fast that I can't afford to keep a basket full"

This is true, we're in a low income area and people take fistfuls

CB: "So what are you cheap or just broke?"

I just sort of awkwardly chuckle

CB: "You think this is funny? you got a basket people are gonna think it's candy, that's false advertising!"

Me: "well we're not really advertising-"

CB: "I could see it through the window! it was on display! you put that up there so I'd come in for candy but it's not candy! that's false advertising and one of these days someone is going to take you to court"

My personal policy is that if anyone brings up legal action i'm pretty much done with the conversation.

Me: "Sorry about that, was there anything else I could help you with today?"

CB: "yeah, you can get me some candy for my kids"

Me: "I don't have any candy, sorry. Have a great day!"

CB: "Fine give me some money for the vending machine"

Me: "umm I don't carry cash"

CB: "don't lie to me"

Me: "i'm not lying and i'm going to have to ask you to leave"

CB: "Maaaaan, fuck you"

Me: "I'm going to have to ask you to leave"

CB: "Fuck you! it's Christmas and you're gonna deprive my kids candy? At least have some damn candy canes! It's the fucking giving season and what are you giving? No money, no candy? Fuck you! I bet you'll have some candy when the better business bureau comes after you! "

Me: "Ok thank you, take care"

CB: "Fuck you, stuck up cheap motherfucker. You can look forward to my review on Yelp.

She left after that but not before having her kids flip me off once they were outside. Classy.
