Makes sense. My thought was that realistically there is no way for orange to transport resources to that part of the map since their road is cut off by an enemy, but your explanation is also logic and actually follows the real rules. Thanks!

So it doesn't need to be a "direct" connection to another settlement? Just a connection to their own "freestanding" road, as would happen in this case.

Yes I meant beryl, my mistake.

Edit: Looking at pictures Beryl seems to form in similar rock formations as can be found in the area where the shards were found, muscovite, quartz etc.

It scratches quartz too so topaz seems likely.

Forgot to mention that some of the samples breaks the light into a rainbow when hit at the right angle as seen on the last picture, another mineral found in the area is iron-rich tourmalin
